The college management is pretty good and people all around are also cooperative.

The Masters of Fashion Management course is well-defined and is a 2 years programme. It is structured properly to give the students an insight into the fashion world and complete knowledge about the fashion industry. There are various extra-curricular subjects included in the curriculum as well which students can choose. There is a craft cluster visit and an outbound programme scheduled as well which help in giving students a break and fun time along with knowledge and getting to know their peers better. An industrial visit is also included in the curriculum along with an internship of 2 months. There are various guest lectures organised frequently to give students an insight of the industry work. Placements are good and faculty is very supportive as well.

NIFT placements are centralised. Students can choose to appear in 3 campus placements of those places where placements are being held usually in Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, etc. Faculties also help their students in getting placed in good companies.

There are various events which take place such as Spectrum is the annual event where students from other colleges also participate and compete. Converge is a centralised event which takes place in any one of the NIFT campus and students from all other NIFT campus participate and compete in it. Apart from these 2 events, every festival such as Holi, Onam, Dusshera, etc are celebrated here with joy.

The fee structure for a MFM course at NIFT costs around 5.20 lakhs for 2 years. It is comparatively quite feasible to other colleges which charge around 7-8 lakhs for a masters degree. The fee breakdown is given by the college and nothing is hidden from the students.

No I have not opted for any scholarship or education loan so have no knowledge regarding how to avail it.

The campus is quite big. It has a gym, stationary shop, canteen, music room and various laboratories and stitching machines of different types available. There is a mess and a basketball court as well. The computer labs are well-equipped. Students of all gender are allowed, boys, girls and transgender. The ratio of girls in the college is more compared to the ratio of boys. Students from all states, caste and religion can be found in NIFT, since admissions here are centralised with students applying from all over India and getting admission based on their merit rank.

Yes I have opted for hostel. Hostel rooms are only available for girls and is based on twin sharing. The rooms have a bed and mattress, a cupboard, a study table and chair. The washrooms are clean and good hygiene is maintained. Washing machine is provided on hourly basis against a small amount to use it. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hostel charges for a year is around 45000.

NIFT has a wide and well-connected alumni network. The alumni often deliver guest lectures to give students a practical outlook towards the fashion industry and fashion world.

NIFT is a central college which over 16 branches in 16 different states. I chose this college since it is ranked one of the best fashion institutes in India. The course and faculty here is very knowledgeable and supportive. The college gives students a wide exposure to all fields with good placement. For getting admission into NIFT one has to fill the application form which is released in September and can be filled up till December. Once the form is filled, a written entrance exam takes place in January, which constitutes of general aptitude questions.

Faculty at NIFT is well-oriented and quite knowledgeable. All of them have done a Ph.D in their respective field of study and is extremely supportive as well. They are well-versed with their teaching subject and teach through Powerpoint presentations. They also provide the relevant books which should be referred to. Also, mentoring sessions are included in weekly timetable where students are assigned a mentor and they can consult their mentors regarding any issues which they face in academics, hostel, college or the place in whole.
