College management is the worst management ever. All they think is about the money and not about the student career. Its just that everything was provided only at the cost of money.
There are lots of course mainly all. Even ploy tech. forestry, agri, architecture, b tech etc was all available. Mtech for several course was also recently introduced in 2017-18. I can't be 100% sure that I have enjoyed my life there, the college was mainly all about money, fees was high as it was a private college, no exception was granted if we failed to provide the fund instead a sanction of fine 100 rs per day was imposed so about the fees this was it.
As for my course the placement was rare. My seniors was lucky to have one. As for us we didn't have that experience. Mostly Cs, Eee and other course has many placements drive and many are selected. As for the internship I join the PWD of dehradun and had my experience of 1 month. 60% placement every year. yes they do provide us many tips and classes to prepare for those so even tho we didn't hav the opportunity to sit in campus but we are more confident to appear with flying colour in our future endeavour.
First of all we have the fresher party or celebration in late Sept or Oct. And technical fest I. E PINAK on March or April, every year. The college performance on the cultural and festive was rather on high note as the celebrations was held on time and with great preparation. Our technical fest I. E PINAK is hold widely and vastly and many colleges are made to participate in this events by building or inventing new ideas in to reality. 10-15 lakh overall package is held for this competition yearly. Also at the end of PINAK event we held the farewell party for the seniors and thus our festive and college events are held in high note.
For the thing called transparency I'd say No. Since I joined the college through an agency my fees are rather low but I am made to sit in hostel till my college end. 115000 was the first installment and every year increment of 10000 was added to it. For the general students they are made to pay the heft amount like 180000 lakh so transparency was absent there. There are lots of additional charges like cultural free fresher fee and many other nearly 1-2000 rs are needed to pay such additional things. Also I hav added the hostel fees as a whole while mentioning my frees and other fees. Bus fees library fee etc etc I can't imagine Id survive paying those.
The college does not provide scholarships for the general students so incase of us we were provide scholarships at the Indian portal. It was a scheme held by them and even the chairman was caught with our money. Even tho this was the case we get roughly 30000 per year. It was only for the people who came through the agency other than that the college doesn't provide any scholarships.
The gender ration was 200 girls per 100 male in average. No student or dorm party was allowed. The workshop was available every 1-2 mnth in the college. The college was tranparancy with the religion and belive and our college does not consider any form of violence incase of race religion. So it was a cool college without any form of disparities. The college also doesn't not allow any form of student committees in the college. The college was rather a school than a college without any form of committee, union etc. There was only few clubs and was not soo active.
Yes, the hostel room are large enough and 3 person are made to sit together 2 incase the room are medium. There is no pg in the college during our course but there is a building which is going to be made into pg in future. The facilities in the college are average and the hygiene is ok. But the college food are so bad. Its not that it is not rather a good fit for the body. All the time dishes are changed or sometime they are half cooked. Other than the food the hostel facility if good. In case of using ambulance service. There is a service fee so this is the worst thing if ur injured or sick or need medical attention.
The seniors was good. They help us shape the cooler and move on with the flow and provide help when we are in need and also guide us well. As such I didnt encounter any alumni but seeing the good seniors it made me shape myself into a betr person by trying to follow their path of achievements and humbleness. Made me learn many aspect of life and gave me moral help when I needed.
Since my college was a private college and I am from Northeast, I was informed about the college through newspapers. There was a agency in our area which made us appear an entrance exam and through which I was selected for he college. Also the agency had some of the MOU with the college thus so it wasn't a hard thing to get admission into my college.
I'd rather say it was just ok! Since 1-2 year the faculty was betr with more experiences. But as we approached the end of the final stage in college we had a rough day's dealing with new faculty. So our next junior might b able to adjust as they gained experience from us. But as for us it was a hard thing to cop with it. We hav 7 lecture of 50min per day. All the faculty wasn't bad. There was also many who had many achievements and also with good experiences but I'd say the language barrier is most common as it's hard for us northeast to adjust with the Hindi and their hard core words. Explainarion was more done in Hindi rather than English and it was the worst thing to adjust with it. I was shock to learn that the textbook was English the college was private with English as a whole but the experience was with Hindi mainly. Other than that we do talk in English but the explanation wasn't clear that's all.
In the last semester, students are eligible for applying for companies. Many companies are visiting our college for placement such as ONGC, Amazon, Flipkart, Textbook, and many more. The highest package is about 3-5 crore and the average package is about 3-5 lakh per year. There is about 70-80 percentage student is getting their placement.
Generally from 7th-semester students become eligible for campus placement. The placement of IIT Roorkee is very good. The placement percentage is around 60 %. While other students go for other competitive exams like UPSC civil services, UPSC IES, etc. A lot of renowned companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc visited the campus for the placements. Some Students get packages in crores and the average package is also good. I plan to crack UPSC civil services exam after completion of my degree.
Firstly, the placement depends on you. If you are qualified then you get selected. Now, if we talk about College Placement. The college will provide INternship as well as placement for students of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year. The students become eligible for placement from the third year. Even college gives chance to the students of the third year to sit during the placement. There are many companies that visit our campus for the placements like Codestore, Accenture, Assurgent Solution Technology, Nihilent Technology, and many more. The highest package was 18 lakhs per annum. If we talk about the percentage of students who got placement then I would say focus on the knowledge because for appearing in the placement drive student needs above 6 CGPA. And after that company will only check your knowledge and skills. I am not going to apply to any company for the job because I am looking towards a Master's.
The placement performance of the college for the mechanical branch is not so praiseworthy. There are only a handful of companies that visit the college for core mechanical jobs. As a result, only a few students get placed in mechanical jobs while the rest either opt for jobs in software companies or prepare for post-graduation. However, the placement situation is better for CSE and IT branches with a large number of software companies and startups visiting the campus each year. With the Covid situation in place, the placement scenario looks even bleaker for mechanical, electrical and electronics branches with CSE and IT branches still expected to see good jobs. I started preparing for MBA during my final year to have a backup option if I didn't get a place anywhere. However, I was able to ace both the placement and the exam in the end.
Roorkee College of Engineering is the best college in Uttarakhand and all over India. The campus is huge, and it has the state-of-the-art technologies to provide many industrial exposure opportunities to students in the college.
No college is good. College life well it was awesome. I had done my UG from Bhagwant university, Ajmer. college life means masti, majak, ghumna, dost, party, jhagra, bunk,
Because this college is reputed college of the city. And fees is also affordable. Placement records are also good. College has been pretty fun the past few weeks; I met a lot of new friends, went to some parties, rushed, met some new guys, ect, ect. However, I’m still not accustomed to having to study for weeks before a test instead of the night before. I’m still adjusting to college life, but I’m having qualms about my major and being pre-med
