I wanted to learn new and amazing things, I thought choosing LPU would be a good choice. I saw videos and ads for LPU. I researched about it. I found it fascinating. I saw scholarship programs of LPU. I thought why not give it a try. I got a scholarship. I was happy. That, I got an amazing opportunity to study where I would be getting to see the world not from the tv perspective but from my own eyes. That's why I chose LPU. It has a rich diversity of people and culture. It has a positive aspect of everything. But, one thing is that there are too many people there, so, sometimes, it may be crowded. If any Lpu student is reading this, he may agree with this point. Despite being overcrowded sometimes, It offers many facilities such as gym, food shops, canteens, hostels with the mess, playgrounds, malls, parks and many more. Even if there are more people in the college, there are many opportunities for you to see and learn from them that you may not get from any other colleges I think.
I am pursuing B.Tech in computer science and engineering. I have a keen interest in this field and I want to build my career based on this. So, I chose this course. The student in each batch contain 50-60 students. The teachers are well instructors and support. You can get to learn many things from them. The term exams are well-timed. It follows a proper strict academic calendar which is a must for proper academic continuance. People who study properly can not only pass but, score good marks in the exams. Even some students pull an all-nighter study and pass the exam like its child play. So, the level of exams is not that difficult.
many students get internships and offer from companies with a stipend as low as Rs5000 to as high as Rs50000.
In 3rd year, students can opt for placements and internships offers from campus. There are many companies visiting like Amazon, Byjus, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Infosys, Capgemini and Samsung Research institute etc. There is less percentage of people getting placements as there are many students and fewer companies. Also, LPU gives priority to send the high grader students whereas students in low grade would get less opportunity to showcase their talent. They are taking 10000 extra fees for registering for placement which should not be done.
Normal fees are 96500 but if you have scholarships, you can get it at a lower price. Many scholarship opportunities are provided based on lpu-nest, board marks ad jee score results. Even sports quota is included too.
There are many fests happening in the campus. Some of them are youth vibe, one India and One World. Many books are available in the library from academic to non-academic books. Non-academic books may not be in great number but a selected few are good to read and study. There are gyms and playgrounds. Many extracurricular activities practices are done. Instructors are there to guide you too. UMS is the website for students and parents given by LPU to get updates and important announcements regarding campus and students need.
If you opt for 4 seater cooler, there are 4 beds, one bathroom and one washroom. There is a short balcony. For meal facility, you have to give another 30000. This should be included in the hostel fee. A specific unit is assigned. If crossed, extra charges are expected. The room is not quite spacious for a person. The best choice is taking room or PG outside if you can handle long-distance walking and travelling and getting up early in the morning. Else, it would be a better choice to opt for hostels.
GNDU has one of the best on campus placements in Punjab and in India too. Many multinational visit for campus recruitments like Amazon, Naggaro, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini etc. The highest package till now is 12 LPA and the average package is almost 3.5 LPA. Every year almost 88% of students of GNDU get placed. I will also be appearing for a placement drive on the main campus.
3rd year, company visiting our campus are Capgemini, Tata consultancy services and Godrej Nestle Mahindra Infosys and many others companies. The highest package is placement is not more than 16 LPA. About 70% of students get placed. After my degree, I want to do civil services.
The placement is good. I am in the second year so not knowing much about the placements but from the website, it is known that many tech giants like Mahindra, Godrej and Daikin along with Infosys visit regularly the college and provides good packages to worthy students. It is on the website of college that almost 80% of the students gets placed every year with decent packages in hand.
Campus placement is available. Companies like Welpsum, L&T, Mahindra and Mahindra etc recruit students from the mechanical department. Students are eligible for sitting in placement from the 6th semester. Rs. 3.5 lakh per annum is the average placement. Most of the students choose GATE for higher studies and the percentage of students qualifying for GATE is higher than those appearing in placement.
