IIM Kozhikode is arguably the most sought after Indian Institute of Management beyond IIMs A, B, C and L. It is frequently ranked among the top B-Schools in the country and has displayed its pedigree by posting stellar placements year after year. After not getting an opportunity at the older IIMs, I was ecstatic to know that I had gotten selected here. It turned out to be as good as it promised to be!The admission process consists of appearing for CAT, followed by shortlisting on the basis of academic experience and relevant work experience in the past. This is followed by WAT and PI, which are then combined with the aforementioned factors as well as diversity score, in order to offer final admissions.
After the shortlisting of candidates on the basis of their CAT score, academic performance and work experience, students are invited to attend the WAT/PI. We had the writing ability test followed by the personal interview round, wherein the interviewers were professors and alumni of the "Kampus". They grilled me incessantly and ensured that I was on my toes, metaphorically, throughout the duration. However, I was overjoyed once I was declared selected.
The reason for choosing IIM Kozhikode was its inclusion among the top IIM'S of the country. The institute was placed 6th by NIRF while it was ranked 5th by The Week in MBA rankings of the year 2020. IIMK also has approval from AACSB and AMBA. Admissions to the famous MBA program here are provided on CAT score , work experience, academic records and performance of the student in interview .
The Institute shortlisted all applied candidates on basis of their academic records, CAT score and work experience. Which is then followed by the interview round during which the panel did different kind of questioning to the students. The overall performance in these rounds finalised the admissions.
