It is a good Engineering College and my senior from School suggested and he is also studying there. I have not prepared for JEE Advance and due to that I can't get a IIT. This College is better than many NIT's. Thats why I choose Thapar.
Our Curriculum and Academics are upto the mark that any Engineering colleges should have. About the Faculties some are really nice and some are okay types. There are always ups and down in a Institution like this.
Placement is upto the students. No doubt college reputation can get but your resume is the one going to the company head. CGPA is the criterion to sit in a placement test but skills are the one that can get you a job.
In 2-3 days there is a Tech fest or Culture fest. There are about 52 societies and fest are real common there. Big Events also occurs in which famous celebrities and Engineers, come and encourage students.
If you score around 9.5 CGPA in a semester and have a good result in 12th board and JEE Mains then you can get scholarship. Cut off list for every branch will come. You will get back half of your tuition fees for the semester.
Sports Faculties are real good, we have synthetic athletic court, 5-6 Football fields and Basketball Courts. Wi-fi is all over the campus with speed of 120-150mbps. Library is really huge with 4 floors and a book contains 100 copies.
Hostel Rooms are adequate enough for 3 people in 1st year. As you become a senior, you can choose for single seater and so on. Bathroom facilities are good and common down the Hallway, but in some hostels they have attached bathroom in the room.
A good average of placement is offered by college after successful completion of course. From 7nth semester students become eligible for internships and with final semester placement. Every year 20 to 30 companies visits the campus with offer of different job positions. Companies like Samsung/havells/TCS/ Wipro/ Cognizant Bajaj electronics are top companies. Average package offered is 3.5 lac and highest is 12 lac. Around 80-25 percent students get placed in CSE. followed by ECE 65% ME and EE CE respectively. When I will complete my degree and get a campus placement then I will be committed to its responsibility. Otherwise if not placed w, ll looking for internships and off-campus drives. I will prepare for interviews.
Academics of the college and well educated faculty of all branches, almost all of them have PhD's and because of the placement record of this college drove my interest towards getting admission in this college.
Placements are good. There are preparation classes for placement, almost 60 to 80% students got placed, placement process vary according to the company visting.
When i done my 12th then a question is on my mind to get admission in government university so i search for universities on google i found that University which is close to my city and having good ranking in punjab
This college is fabulous as I imagined.i think these four years of my deegree will be the best four years of my life.
The college supports the students and helps them. It over pressure the students and force them to do work which the are not supposed to do. This college is no good for anything exepct extra curricular activities.
Positive remark is that rules and regulations are properly followed and Classes are held regularly on time. The negative remark is that placement at very less. Any infrastructure or equipment is damaged it could not repair on time.
The staff here is very good all are very helping and caring. The infrastructure of campus and buildings are very flourished and maintained regularly. The college life here is going excellent. I recommend this college to everyone who are planning for btech courses.
College management is really good and helpful and the issues are heard of and resolved.
This college is very good in studies, but one thing I want to say that the fee structure for this college is very large and it should be reduced for the benefit of poor students.
