IIT, Dhanbad
REMARKS
I chose IIT ISM dhanbad because in the earth science department this college is considered as best not even in India but in Asia. This college is the oldest college in India offering mining engineering since 1926.
PLACEMENT WING
Company visited for mining include vedanta, hindalco, kccl, ambuja cement, jsw, Tata steel, pwc offers made were 18, 9, 8, 5, 6, 4, 3. Profile offered was graduate engineer trainee or management trainee. Placement process includes an aptitude test following a group discussion and the personal interview. Alumni network of the college is very strong each and every industry has few notable alumni one can easily get a job referral. Out of 7 current cmds of cil, 6 is from ism dhanbad. Entrepreneur cell of the college is still in development phase.
HOSTEL FACILITIES
In IIT ISM dhanbad all the students have taken hostel facility, hostel had all the basic facilities and an average infrastructure. In each room there were two students living. Rooms were not very big in size but had a decent space for two peoples.
CAMPUS LIFE
IIT ISM dhanbad is a tier 1 college having the most updated infrastructure and smart lecture halls, library is one of the biggest of the country, sport facilities are very encouraging for one who is a sport enthusiast, every year there is a inter IIT meet happens, wifi speed is approx 10mbps, labs of the college consists each kind of equipment for the practical purpose.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
In the recent year the syllabus has been revised and the new subjects according to the requirement have been introduced. Faculty wise mining stream has the best faculty with the professor have the diversified industry experience.
INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES
I went for summer training in Tata Steel. In the summer training one does not get any stipend
COLLEGE EVENTS
Campus life is memorable time period that I ever had includes various events throughout the year, every department organizes their events, college organizes an annual cultural and technical fest. For extracurricular activities their are various clubs including musical , dramatic , photography etc.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
Scholarships were available for economically weaker students. Loans can be easily availed through banks as there was a bank even inside the campus. Merit based scholarship were also there, for these one have to maintain a cgpa of greater than7.5.
