Remarks :

Ramaiah College is a famous college in Bangalore, that was the reason I had chosen this college. It follows Bangalore University and fee structure for BA journalism is comparatively less in this college which is around 36,000 per year for localities. We have a separate journalism lab where we are acknowledged with various practical concepts of Journalism. The faculties in the BA department are very kind and helpful when compared to other departments of the college. You can apply to this college online or by going directly to the college for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The college follows the Bangalore University syllabus which is mostly theory. The college gives a lot of importance to theoretical knowledge. The faculties are highly qualified with a minimum qualification of a Master's degree. The student ratio is around 80 students which is a really good college atmosphere. The teacher is very friendly and are they to help at any time of need. They ensure that they cover the syllabus in time. It's easy to pass the exams with the guidance of teachers and their notes.

Placement Experience :

Journalism is a course after which you can get into any newspaper organizations or media field. The university has a placement cell providing various job opportunities for the course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The university provides scholarships from the board for certain categories. The college has a separate placement cell that provides various job opportunities throughout the year for the final year students. The minimum package provided by the university is 2lpa with a maximum of 5lpa. I got a job in Concentric with a package of 2lakh per annum.

Campus Life :

The college campus is vast and amazing to make use of. It has a fest organized every year in the month of January which is really fun. It has several sports clubs, NCC and NSS opportunities for students. Other than these they organize literature club, science club for students to take part in.

Placement Experience :

3rd and 4th-year students are eligible for internships/ placements. Companies like Purvankara, Live space, Centrix, home lane, etc came in. There were good companies but only a few students get internships or placements and the college doesn’t promise a job for all. The package isn’t much as it’s just mainly internships. 10% get interested in 3rd year and 40% in 4th. I want to work with a good company for 1 year and then freelance before I can open my firm.

Placement Experience :

In the final year students become eligible for placements and we have placement cell also. In 2nd year only we have attended 2-4 news channels interview and training. But due to pandemic, we didn't attend placements and all. And our seniors to didn't attend for placements because they are interested in higher education. So the percentage of placements is not clear, but for us, they prepared fully to attend any type of job interviews and also to handle all juniur of news channel and newspaper.

Remarks :

Yeah they charged a lot in fee it's like extra 40000-45000 in my opinion cause they charge extra for exam, long tour and college don't provide any funds for events like fresher or other festival and they don't celebrate Christmas idk they said it's diversed Country but they don't celebrate I guess there are not Christen students in this college. Canteen food is not good. They didn't provide any wifi regarding they had mentioned that they have WiFi

Remarks :

Good remarks are most of what I have for this wonderful place. But one thing that could change is the extreme filtering method used by the Communicative English Department. If you want to take up PyEC, you better be up there coz this according to the Dept head is meant only for a certain class of students. Even if you clear the interview with the principal, you may not clear the interview with the HOD here.
