NIRF ranking for the year 2019, my college was 1st among all the colleges in the city. I got admission through the central admission process rounds, under the OBC ladies' quota. The college provides the scheme to change branches in the second year if students score well in the first year. Also, there is a choice-based credit system, which allows us to choose the subjects as per our convenience. Though it doesn't have a huge campus, the library, labs, classes, clubs are fully equipped.
I was interested in electronics and my college has a particular course for electronics engineering. The faculty-student ratio is 1:60 for theory and 1:20 for practicals. All professors either have a phd or post-graduation qualification. They are fully trained with the latest technology and teaching techniques. We have an app to evaluate our daily progress, attendance, and marks. Exams are taken as 2 unit tests and pre-semester exams and final semester exams. Double evaluation is done for semester exams.
Mahindra offers internships on campus, and various other companies offer out campus internships with or without stipend.
After the 3rd year, students are trained for interviews and placements. More than 100 companies make more than 800 offers. The highest package was 36.8 LPA, and the average is 6.8 LPA. As of last year, from the electronics and telecommunication department, 80 out of 120 students were placed. From the first year itself, GHRCE trains students for the placements. I plan to do my MS or Mtech after graduation.
Like every other college, category scholarships are provided for open, obc, sc, st, etc. Also for open category students whose income is less, scholarship named 'freeship' is provided. College provides education loans also. Internships are provided for 3rd and final year students.
College doesn't have a big ground, but they do have a sports club with indoor games like pool, table tennis, chess, carrom, etc, and for outdoor games, college takes you to ground nearby for games like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, etc. Other than the sports club, the college has music clubs, dance clubs, and various clubs like NSS, SRC for extracurricular activities. Various competitions are taken throughout the year, which is related to sports, music, dance, creativity, coding, robotics, photography, etc. Our annual fest is known as antragini and is held in February every year, with 4 days of events including fashion shows, DJ nights, celebrity night, traditional days, etc. College library is huge with a lot of books and journals for the students. Classes are huge with proper sitting arrangements and projectors for innovative teaching. A huge auditorium for guest lectures and activities is cherry on the cake.
From the 7th, semester student becomes eligible for campus placement. IBM, BSNL and many more companies are visited in our college. The average package given was between 2 lakhs -5 lakhs PA. More students can be placed in big companies with good packages. After getting a degree I plan to do higher studies in chemical engineering.
Most of the capable students are placed in MNCs like Infosys, Capgemini, TCS, Wipro through on-campus or pool interviews; they come with a differential of 3.8LPA and around 7LPA. Veritas provided 9LPA, many others got jobs through LinkedIn. Most core engineering students are interested in doing further studies or preparing for government examinations, while others work in the practical field as Contractors for various departments
Placements are good enough. 1. Student can seat for placement in 7th semester for BTech and 3rd semester for MTech. 3. Companies around 150 visits every year, such as Microsoft, Citi bank, JSW Steel, tata motors, Bajaj, Siemens, Schindler, Emerson, IOCL, Cognizant, blue star ABB, Eaton etc. 4. Highest package- 38 LPA (by Microsoft) Average package- 5.0 LPA 5. Placement percentage: around 85%
The college aims to 100% placements with an average package of over 3.5lacs/annum. The students are eligible for the placement by third-year second semester and so on. The highest packages range from 18-24 lacs/annum for a fresher. The training and placement cell is proactive and has worked towards bringing good placement opportunities for the students. Last year packages ranging from 18-24 lacs were offered by Japanese companies and by many other companies.
Very good college but a minute problem is that shegaon is not a very big marketplace but its a holy place blessed by sant gajanan maharaj. College has very good atmosphere and the best thing that i liked is the cleanliness in college premises. Also gym, atm, hospital is available inside the campus. There is direct route to railway station or bus station via auto. Only 20 rs.
The events are organised by students themselves. The faculty help in that. There is no as such campus crowd. The extracurricular activities are good, but few people support it. The technical fest of the college is organised by students committee which is not much impressive.
