    REMARKS

I choose to attend this college because of recommendations and after reading its reviews from Collegedunia website. It has a good ranking in Delhi University and also has excellent science faculty. As I was told the first day, this college has very rude admin staff. Also, the college has a very strict discipline. For the admission, I was asked to bring all the original documents including the 10th mark sheet, caste certificate etc. Every year admissions start in 1st week of May. College staff checked my marks with a cut off list and asked me to pay the fees from the DU portal. I preferred this college over others because of its high ranking, good discipline and its science faculty. I also selected this college because it has many societies that will help you in exposure and following your passion. SVC has a very big library and a big auditorium. While selecting this college, I used collegedunia website.

    PLACEMENT WING

Campus placements are available for commerce students. Life Sciences does not have any campus placements. Commerce students get good placements from big companies at the very high package. We have a separate Placement Cell for this and also a Placement fair is held every year in which every student can take part. Life Sciences students prefer going for masters or for any government job after their graduation. Also, there are many jobs available for life science students in the private sector. We have jobs in chemical industries, medicinal fields, and research jobs. Life Science students always get an opportunity in science-related jobs. Most of my seniors went for them post-graduation. I am also planning for a government job after my graduation. Life Science students are also very active in internships.

    CAMPUS LIFE

Campus life at Sri Venkateswara College is full of fun, enthusiasm, positivity and exposure. There are many societies in the college nearly for every passion that you could follow. There is a rock garden in college where students spend there leisure time among trees. Annual Fest of Sri Venkateswara College named NEXUS is famous in Delhi University. It is a big event held every year in February month. Students from all colleges of Delhi University and also from other universities come in this fest. Science and Commerce fest is also held every year in the month of January. The library has all categories of books and monthly magazines. Daily Newspapers are also available for students. Classrooms are air-conditioned and have an advance smart class system. There is a big cricket ground in college and separate net area for cricket practice. There is an old badminton court in college and new is under construction. Almost every week we have different sports and cultural programs.

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

I choose B.Sc Life Sciences course because it allows you to study 3 subjects for your graduation so that you get different options for your Masters. DU has a very good curriculum for this course. Along with 3 main subjects, we also get to study an extra skill-enhancing subject every semester. This skill-enhancing subject makes student field ready. Life Sciences has Chemistry, Botany and Zoology as main subjects. We have 100 students taught by 5 teachers at a time(100:5). Faculty is very excellent. All the professors are MSc. and PhD. qualified and are very experienced. They teach very well. Professors use smart classroom and other advance technology for studying. Practical teachers use every traditional and technology method to teach us. We have semester exam system, so we have term exams after every 6 months. Semester exams are easy to pass but difficult to get good marks. For life sciences course, we have to study very much to get good marks.

  • LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS

We have to pay college fees yearly and exam fees every 6 months. College fees are 14335 rupees per year and exam fees is 1200 rupees per semester. Yearly fees involve classroom fees, lab fees, library fees, cultural programs fees and may more categories. There are many scholarships available for the students. Scholarships for students from sc/st and other backward classes. Meritorious Scholarship and All India Entrance Scholarship is also available. Balaji Scholarship of rupees 5000/- for the best debater and Balaji Sports Scholarships for International and National players. Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for the Single Girl Child. Students selected for Ranji Team also get Rs. 6000/-. On-campus jobs are not provided to students by the college. But students do many on-campus jobs provided by private companies.

Motilal Nehru College review

Placement -

There is a placement cell in Motilal Nehru College you have to join it for placements. Moreover, no one does the job after graduation so go for MSc or any other professional course by taking appropriate coaching. Also, there is an exam of IIT JAM for masters.

Many companies approach students for employment opportunities and there is a proper placement cell dedicated for this work. There are ample opportunities available after graduation in maths honours. One could go for higher studies or may turn to teach career for this subject. Many people prepare for government exams and competitive exams.

A New Beginning

Placement -

I am a first-year student who has been offered an opportunity to become part of the placement cell in the first year itself which is a big thing in itself. In the session 2019-20 cell managed to secure 150+ placements in the department of science commerce and arts. Top companies like Deloitte, PWC UK, United airlines, Boston consultants, Bank of America, Zomato, ABP network and etc. Average package stood 5.03 LPA and highest package stood 15 LPA offered by Edukey. In this session over 100 companies offered placement opportunities among them 22 companies carried outplacement in the campus and others in their offices. I am a defence aspirant and will try for CDS and AFCAT after my graduation.

Decent College with amazing academics

Placement -

The placement cell has become better over the years but yes there's still a long way to go. The thing is there are just not as many jobs you are eligible for just after completing a degree in any of the natural sciences. If at all you come across any such jobs they are just not related or relevant to your degree and if you're okay with that then you can go ahead. But personally, I'd prefer going for higher studies and then getting into jobs just as so many others do. If because for some reason you'd prefer going to the job directly after graduation I'd suggest you be proactive and search up for internships and jobs from earlier on. I think you are eligible for placements from your 5th or 6t...
