I opted to do major in IT, and had to study Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Mechanics and what not!! ya, very less of IT though (Again, kudos to Indian education system).
Placements and Job opportunities are just not there throughout India, SO how can you blame my college alone. Thats understandable, when you have billions of engineers passing out each year for just thousands of job openings.
Hell a number of banks are there to call and bother you to offer loans for you. Scholarships are for scholars.
Campus life basically is "Enjoy as much as you can now itself. World is going to treat you differently once you are out". Hence i enjoyed to the core alright.
A student who passed his 6th semester they are eligible for campus placement. More than 18 companies visited and mostly 100% of students got offered which is depends upon students performance. 15k, 22k, 28k is the scale offered by companies, will join in my offered company.
The students of the fourth year that is in their 7th semester are eligible for the campus placements. There are a lot of companies which come for recruitment from adobe Microsoft google Amazon PayPal TCS and much more. TCS is the mass recruiter of our college.
Fake interview was asked to deposit 50000 for securing a seat in the course. I opted this college because it offered courses in Oil and Gas and was near to my home. Wanted to pursue something different but ended working in a different industry. Admission date was informed through a call and everything was all of a sudden didn't get to see the hostel rooms or anything.
No internships and not even a single company from the petroleum sector came for recruitment only one company that too a petrochemical one came but they didn't want us they want chemical engineering students and other than that most of them were IT companies and some mechanical ones that's all.
Very talented and helpful management.
