GVP is a very good college with a reputation so i decided to join GVP solely based on its reputation. GVP has a very good faculty and a nice ground to play sports. The canteen is average and some items are overpriced. The college is also located 1.5km inside kommadi so for people taking public transport it may get difficult to reach college without an auto which is not available all the time near the College vicinity. To get admitted to the College you need to get a good score in EAMCET preferably less than 7000 but there is also management quota for some 40 seats which you can get at reasonable price if you know some higher officials working in the College. GVP has better contact with companies and if you have merit than you can get some placement preparation courses for free during pre placement period. I came to know this college from my father's friend whose son studied there and so i didn't research any websites to know about the College.
I really wanted to get into this college so i opted for cse, ece and mech in councelling round and luckily i got selected for mechanical. There is a minimum of 3 faculty per section of 70 students for an individual course which is a good number. If the subject is popular more faculty is allocated .The same faculty mostly was allotted for labs if any for the subject. Each and every faculty member had a minimum qualification of M.Tech and some had 2 PHD's. Ninety percent of the faculty are excellent teachers and have very good knowledge of the subject, they even teach other subjects like 4,5 subjects for example. The faculty is never late for class and are rarely absent for class. The curriculum is on par with the latest technologies and we have 2 mid semester and a semester every 6 months. The mid semester is for 3 days and has 2 exams per day while the semester takes place with two days gap between each exam. Some of the questions for the mid and semester exams are from previous year's
The placements in the College are very good though most of them are around 4 lpa packages. From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements having met required conditions. The mass recruiter are Infosys,TCS,Wipro ,Cognizant, cognizant being highest paying among the four. The highest package is around 15 lpa and average package is 4.5 lpa. Last year we had a highest of 150 offers made for our branch. Of the 240 students in our branch 160 are eligible for placements and around 100 get offers. I plan to do a job for few year and the do my master's in another country.
The tuition fees for merit students is 108070, the College is eligible for government scholarship that is if your parent is a non government employee and your rank is less than 12000(probably) you will get full fee reimbursement meaning the government will pay for you. The college does not hike the fees and the College hostel costs 65000 and is not reimbursed . The College placements are very good the bulk recruiters are infosys, tcs, wipro and cognizant and people who have good knowledge and grades can get placements easily if you work hard using the preparation provided by college, though it is very difficult to get stipend oriented internships.
We have an annual fest in the month of March for those participating in the competitions it is a very good experience for the rest you wouldn't find anything interesting to do considering it is a very small college. The cultural fest is a mere 3 hours event and is filled with boring lectures and dances to old songs. On the other side life on campus is very good with flexible hours. The library has all kinds of books related to the subjects but the copies of a book are less. The class rooms are very spacious and some have projectors for presentations there are cleaned every day and are very neat. We have a huge ground to play all kinds of sports we also have competitions between various branches on various sports to determine which branch is great. The College also host freshers party for newly admitted students in the auditorium. There are many clubs in the College hosted by students both technical and social. Myself am in a chess club and Rotaract club which organized social events.
Students from the final year are eligible for the campus placements. To date, two batches have passed out of IIT Tirupati. Last year the highest package was around 43 lakhs, and the average package is approximately 13 lakhs per annum. Various companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, Tata, Wipro, L&T, Bosch, etc., have attended campus placements to recruit students. The institute has a placement percentage of 92%.
After completion of the 3rd year, 1st semester students are eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies are interested in recruiting students from vignan. Famous companies like TCSION, INFOSYS, HTML offers a minimum package of 300000 and a maximum of 1500000.
Placements for conducted pretty well some come best companies like TCS it is IBM came to give placements and so many people what placed I think around 300 people got placed in TCS and some few small companies also came and so many of us got placement in the campus itself.

Infosys, Capgemini, IBM, Tech Mahindra, amararaja batteries Thermax systems, Genpact, Glenwood systems, CGI, TCS, etc. The highest package offered is 10.4 lakhs by Qualcomm company and the average package is about 2.8lpa.
