SMC, Silchar
AN AMAZING JOURNEY
REMARKS
The college has very good range of extra curricular activities. It really brings out the talent inside of a student. Everything overall was good about this college. The environment was very student friendly.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
As it was a Govt college the fees was very feasible as per the needs and demand of the course in the growing industry. Hence, it will not be wrong to say that the fees is affordable as per the education and facilities provided by the institution and was easily paid. Scholarships were also given
PLACEMENT WING
The internship was in the same college (Silchar medical College and hospital). Roles were given according to a number of days. After completion we had to take the sign of every department. The final degree was given from Guwahati (main University). We had to work for about 12- 14 hrs per day daily. Stipend was Rs. 17000. Experience was good in the college. After internship we were placed in a rural health center for 1 year. Almost all the students who passed out from this college landed in public or private jobs mostly in academic institutions.
ADMISSION
As there were only 2 seats in my course so it was bit difficult to get into it. Being a Govt. college everyone wants the admission. But somehow I cleared the exam. I took the application forms from the college campus on payment of the prescribed amount of application fee. We are required to fill the application form with the details followed by submission at the college?s address. There was a reservation viz. 85% state quota, 15% all India quota. You need to get into the merit in the qualifying exam
FACULTY
The best part of the college is the faculty. They are always ready to help you. More focus is given on the practical part. Specially Professor?Dr. A. K.Deb. He was the most genuine person I have ever met. The faculty are well versed in their respective fields.
CAMPUS LIFE
The college excels in its extracurricular activity. They empower their students and concentrate on the overall success of their pupils. They had a range of athletic games, such as football , basketball, and so on. They also arranged cultural events such as fest and fate, in which several other organisations take part and students get lots of attention. This often helped them to develop a competitive nature among students.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Exams was taken 2(two) times in Diploma course per year. Research papers are published by the faculty members regularly. The department also organises Eye camp Seminars,CME and workshops are also organised by the department. The exam structure was too good and the lab training were very good.
