Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum for sociology includes study of society and different cultures and how humans and societal well being is inter-related and dependent on each other. The duration of the course is 3 years and is further divided into 6 semesters.

Placement Experience :

The internship and placement opportunities provided by Uttarakhand University are relatively decent for our course. Only a few students with impeccable academic record and resume are able to get a good job. Rest have to apply off campus to get a job since most of the students prefer completing higher studies after doing sociology.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure for B.Sc courses fall in the range of Rs. 12,000 ? Rs. 15,000 for a 3 year program. The fees is charged annually or can be paid in the beginning of each semester. The college offers financial assistance to students with poor economic background.

Campus Life :

The college has a lot to offer through its amazing facilities, faculty and wide range of courses. The college boasts to provide world class distance education ? a concept which is novel to India?s education system. The students studying here are very talented and intellectual and have spectacular personalities.

Admission :

I am currently pursuing B.Sc in sociology from Uttarakhand Open University, Nainital. The college provides both on campus as well as distance education. The eligibility criteria to get in is based on the marks secured in qualifying examination and students will be granted admission based on first come first serve basis. It is mandatory for students to score a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2.

Faculty :

The faculty of the college is very helpful and very disciplined. The teachers have very unique way of teaching the students to make the subject way more interesting. They give real life examples to teach the students which is very resourceful.

Placement Experience :

The last semester students are eligible for campus placements and can take part in them if wants. Various companies like- Tata, Adobe, Amazon, Byjus and ICICI etc visits the campus regularly. The percentage of students getting placement is 60-75%. I want to appear for the SSC CPO exam after getting the degree.

Remarks :

My family lives in Uttarakhand and my mother is sickly so I wanted to stay in Uttarakhand in case of any emergencies. Thankfully with my JEE scores (which were not very good) I got admission in Graphic Era University which is ranked the best private university in Uttarakhand. The merit list is prepared on the basis of 10+2 percentage and the JEE Main Score. I know that there is a way to get direct admission for meritorious students solely based on 10+2 percentage but I do not know the exact process. I think it involves applying on the portal online.

Placement Experience :

The places in the university are good but the placement in my department are the best! Our campus during placements really buzz with life with hundreds of recruiters around. I have seen our seniors get placed with top companies like Adobe, Zscaler and get very attractive packages. We, Graphiaans have great employability. Last I heard, the average package this year is 6 LPA but the highest was from our department and 44 LPA.

Remarks :

My university was accredited with NAAC Grade A in 2015 which reflects its overall status. Student exchange and knowledge sharing programme with foreign university and also ranked within Top 100 universities in India. A quality world class technical institution fostering innovation, which confessed me to take admission in this college.

Admission :

There was no Interview or GD for admission. The admission process is simple based on selection. First of all apply online through institute website and then shortlisting will be done on the basis of marks obtained in JEE. In case of student without JEE scorecard the 12th class mark will be considered.

Remarks :

I opted for IBS Dehradun because of the placement opportunities and the hands-on curriculum of my MBA program. I also heard a lot about this institute from a cousin of mine who graduated from here a year before I joined and he was the one who told me about the kind of placement opportunities and services that this institute offers. I applied here using the online method and submitted the application form through the official website of the institute. The application fee that I had to pay for the admission here was INR 1800.

Admission :

To be eligible for the GD and PI, I first had to appear for the CAT exam in which I secured a decent score and after that only I was called for the round of group discussion and personal interview where I was evaluated on the basis of academic background, my general knowledge, and overall personality.

Remarks :

I think this college provides the best infrastructure in civil engineering field. The students came from all over the india, most of the students are from jammu and kashmir. The admission starts during the month of june-july, As per my point of view this college is best for only civil engineering courses over the other colleges situated at uttrakhand.

Admission :

There were no interviews nor any group discussion regarding the admission process. There is no proper criteria for taking the admission, one should have the selected subjects for taking admission in the selected course.

Remarks :

It is a State owned government Technical college. The fees is very low compared to other colleges, and most importantly, the environment here is very peaceful and you will always feel close to the nature. Also, the facilities like Science and technical labs, central computing facility centre, LAN in all hostel rooms are great. Also, the food prepared in the mess is not bad. The people of nearby village are very simple in nature.
