Manet is one of the imperial colleges in India presently that provide quality education in the stream of Merchant Navy. Some of the experienced faculty here have 40+ years of sailing experience which, they are willing to impart to students who want to pursue merchant Navy as a career. Though marine field is going through a rough patch in terms of placements, this college is committed to provide the best of opportunities and provide an ideal exposure to train competent cadets. Recruiting companies are usually foreign based such as Maersk, MOL, Chevron, MOLTA etc
The curriculum for this college is quite comprehensive and the core subjects are usually inculcated from fourth semester. First three semester are pretty basic and faculties change gradually from semester 4 onwards. Initially professors teach you, when it comes to core subjects, experienced people from marine industry who have previously sailing for ample amount of time with prestigious companies get involved with us. All the Senior faculties are fantastic, they have command over what they teach. Capt. Rakesh Mamgain, Capt. Gokhale and Capt. RG Kulur are the most experiencing faculties teaching here, each of them having 30+ years of sailing experience.
I am currently working as a freelancer with College Dunia. The pay grade is flexible and is totally based upon the quantity of words that constitute an article assigned by them. Merchant Navy is going through a rough patch currently due depreciation in trade across the globe. Companies do visit the campus but they are not recruiting on a large scale. Each company coming to this institute is usually recruiting in single digits. Placement cell has been putting crucial efforts in getting maximum amount of placements to their cadets.
Persona Fest is organised every year in the University campus which is one of the acknowledged fests in Pune. Apart from that, MANET is given the responsibility of hosting Patriotic events like Independence day and Republic day and the cadets of Manet, by far, attract the center stage.
Girl cadets are assisted with fee consession of 50,000 per semester by the DG Shipping. There's no scholarship as such for cadets in MANET. Cadets can avail loan facilities with the reference provided by college but usually cadets prefer opting a loan from banks of their own choice so college is not much involved in this matter.
Our University campus stretches over 125 acres and has all the sports facilities including rowing and boating club. College library has all the major books related to marine field. Lab section includes electrical department, ship-in-campus, seamanship lab and physics lab.
As this course is a mandatory residential course, hostel is compulsory. Hostel rooms have ample space and compose of three cadets in each room.Wifi is available at every section of the hostel. Hygeine is always maintained as the hostel rooms are cleaned atleast once in two days while bathrooms are cleaned daily.
Placements for we school is considerably getting good year by year. The highest package is 20 lakhs and the average is around 9.5 lakh. Median package is 9 LPA. More and more companies participating in the final placement process and giving roles ranging from investment banking to sales and marketing.
PUMBA has shown a consistent 100% placement track record in previous years, and even in the COVID situation, many companies are coming on campus for placements. big brands like ICICI, HDFC, MRF, Colgate Palmolive etc have recruited from PUMBA this year. Average package ranges from 6.5 to 7 LPA approx. Try to be active in the college academics and activities and intercollege competitions on dare 2 compete, to make your resume strong. As long as you have good communication, good academic scores(60% throughout ) and right Attitude, getting placed is a no big deal at PUMBA.
Placements were often in my college. Every week there used to be some or other company coming and we were well prepared for that through our Placement team. The percentage of students passing was upto 95
I liked the teachers of the college and the way of teaching is good and the classroom is fine. My friend sughested me this college though i wanted the combination course of BA LLB which i was not getting around my area.
we have visited to police station were they were letting us know about how the police man works in thier duty time and then we ve visited the court room. The placement are depend upon our dedication and our hardwork no placement will be given from this college.
I heard about this college from my friends and relatives and hence decided to choose this college and when I first visited the college for my admission process, I really liked the campus and the vibe around the college
As of now I am a second year student and do not have any feedback or knowledge regarding the placements and jobs offered by the college after the course is completed.
Good thing is that the staff are very helpful and take a lot of initiative. Bad thing is that the management team isny very Cooperative during admission. They will talk to you very nicely when you take the admission for the first year, then when you have to repeat he process for next year, they show their true colours.
This college is one of the best medical colleges in Maharashtra. Within short span of 5-6 years it has gained high reputation. The college is also in well reputed area of juhu. Number of patients is also high.
