Student's Review On Loyola College, Chennai

Remarks :

The College was in the city I already live in. Even though I wanted to go to a different city for my college education but my parents convinced me to stay in Chennai so had selected this college. The thing I like the most about the college is its campus placement opportunities. They have alsopartnered with several international institutions which could be beneficial for students opting to go international for their higher studies or career.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course in which I was enrolled had a closed syllabus(restrictive in the sense that some core subjects were not taught properly like concepts were not explained especially analytical subjects like statistics/quantitative methods) in its course of three years. A few members of the faculty was not upto the mark with regards to their communication even though they have good knowledge but others (Eg: Prof. Sarita in the morning shift) are very good in the Field. But all the professors are helpful and can guide one through their studies and vast number of books are available in the library. So all in all if one takes proper initiative with the professor it can turn out to be a beneficial programme in the future even considering the drawbacks due to its opportunities in the job market as well as for higher studies like Masters or Doctorates. But the problem is the administration staff, they are rude most of the time and not accommodating or helpful.

Placement Experience :

There are many reputed companies who visit the college for placements. Many notable ones are Deloitte, ICICI Bank, Accenture, KPMG, EY, TCS, etc. There is a separate placement cell available in the college where a student can check out the updated placement opportunities. Also a separate corner has been made for placements on the website which can be accessed to check out placements and new opportunities. Every company has similar steps but different approach for their placement.

College Events :

Ovations are held every year which is an inter department (intra-college) cultural event which is held by the college authorities. Initiative is really important to take part in these events. But they are not as exciting as other colleges holding inter-college fests. But here are inter-college department festivals where each department invites the same department from different colleges for events with significance to the subject (Eg: Economics Dept. invites other colleges (Ecomonis Dept.)) But participantion takes a huge chunk of your time.

Campus Life :

The library is huge and updating. The Computer lab is great for accessing e-books. Wi-Fi is available for teachers For students one needs to ask the office Sports facilities are more so for the ones from sports quota but for regular students time slots have been alloted. There are volleyball courts, basketball courts. There is also a cricket field, a football field as well as a hockey field available. Other sports facilities are also available.

Admission :

Understudies are required to show up and finish the NEET-UG test for clinical understudies. After the declaration of NEET results understudies are required to apply for Counseling of their separate states. As per the positioning of their separate imprints they can apportion a seat in their favored school accessible. Affirmation should be possible immediately with understudies unique archives and distribution request. Velammal can be picked in the directing meeting.

Placement Experience :

In 2014 batch, we were 148 students. Yearly passing percentage is always above 94%. In the final year, our batch pass percentage was 99.25%, and 145 students entered into CRRI internship. Course fees are also increasing steadily year by year.

Remarks :

This college made each and every student to reach them a successful place in the society with their Career and also with their passion and made a precious memories of our lifetime.

Admission :

Basically this course is basic for medial science. As I score less mark for medical. I had a strong belief that this course may help me out for medical science. And this institution is the most famous and popular college in Tamil Nadu and more preferably it is near to my hometown and it has the culture decency and it's an anti ragging campus.

Placement Experience :

The placement did not happen in full fledge, CSS Corp, TCS, and CTS were the major companies that visited us. The average package was anywhere around 2-3.5 CTC. 65% of my batch got placed.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course was really good. But they don't give you any options for choosing your own electives. We had Concrete Technology and Prefabricated Structures as the default electives.

The only complaint I would have is the systematic procedure follow up.The college needs to follow a particular calendar when it comes to decision about examination dates, holidays as well as deadlines.
