I was really interested to study Psychoanalysis and AUD is the only University in India that teaches Psychoanalysis in their masters as well as the m.phil programme. During the period of 2 years, I was able to explore myself as a person and it because of the faculty and the programme. I didn't only learn about Psychology or Psychotherapy in those 2 years but also the psycho-social aspects of it. Also, the activities that were planned by the teacher during some classes helped me to reflect on my own personality and self. I believe that my Psychology programme lacked in terms of Structure. There was no set structure for our exams and classes. I think it would have been better if we had more classes. If one is thinking of applying to Ambedkar University for their Masters's programme, the person has to go through an entrance exam followed by an interview. The total number of seats for each course is between 45-50. The admission forms will be out in July.
The only reason for me choosing AUD is Psychoanalysis. The faculty that taught us were really experienced. I think most of them were PhD in their respective fields. I was really fascinated by their methods of teaching as they were very inclusive while teaching and used to push us to think more and have different perspectives. We used to have 1 assignment for each course and in that assignment, we had to answer 1 question in 15,000 words. We had to link many concepts to answer that question.
We didn't get any placement opportunities from the University. I think the campus lacked In terms of placement opportunities. I really wanted the University to provide us with some job opportunities.
As it is a govt. University the fees was around 25,000 for each semester which is very less for a master's programme. One has to score more than 85 percent to get the scholarship provided by the University.
I really loved my campus. I guess I really liked the vibe of the University as the University is very acceptable towards the QUEER people which is quite remarkable. The library is famous for psychoanalytical books.
I had a face to face interview with 2 of our faculty members. I didn't know anybody from the University prior to my interview. I was being asked about my undergrad experience and the reason why I wanted to study Psychoanalysis.
In this course, there is a scope of government as well as private job opportunities. There are NGOs that provide internship opportunities. In this course, one can experience a lot while doing an internship. After getting this degree, I would like to search for an NGO where I can teach the students.

Management was exceptional, helpful and collaborative
The college is good overall. Our department (Philosophy) is not that good, but still due to other courses I'll rate it highly in academics. The environment inside is political and that's not a bad thing. The politics here more often than not is healthy.
Overall Hindu College excels in each and every aspect, including teaching and non-teaching staff. The admin section is also very helpful and efficient. It is a wonderful space to spend the prime education years. If there has to be a negative remark, it is the washroom and toilet facilities. It is not well managed at all, especially the women's washrooms.
Management is very much supported. They treat every student is equally.
