Admission is done two times a year, one in January and the second in July, Students can do online/offline admission. After BPP, students can opt for B.COM/BA. BPP does not have the essential qualification of having passed 12. The degrees granted by IGNOU are valid and recognized not only in India but abroad as well. However, the scope after graduation from IGNOU is limited as compared to graduation in regular mode.
Bachelors Preparatory Programme (BPP) is for students who wish to do a Bachelor's Degree of IGNOU but do not have the essential qualification of having 12th passed. There were 2 faculties for 30 students, it was very easy for the faculties to give one to one attention while teaching us, this opportunity gave students to learn better. The faculties had studied B Ed with 10 years of teaching experience. The exams will be conducted twice a year, one in July and the second in December. The exam questions contain only multiple-choice questions, this will help students to pass the exams easily.
Students can apply for jobs are attend interviews only after graduating from IGNOU. The job availability after obtaining a degree from IGNOU is limited to a few well-known companies in India. Remaining companies look for students with a full-time degree or regular degree. Students can easily get jobs in startups, MNC call centres, domestic corporate companies. I was offered Job by Convergys, 24/7 and Concentrix. Students can easily earn from 15,000 to 20,000 Rupees. All Students will definitely get a good job. I will pursue post-graduation.
The fee for the programme for 6 months or 12 months is only Rs 1000. Study materials and weekend classes will be provided to students so that they can study, learn and prepare for the final exams. Students can visit the IGNOU website to know about the important updated like admission fees, process and final date, examination process fees and the final date. Students can visit the college website/study centre website to know classes timetable.
IGNOU has regional centres and study centres in all major city. I am from Bengaluru, Karnataka. My study centre was CMR college, Banaswadi, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The colleges are located in a good residential area, the infrastructures are brilliant, the faculties are well educated, well mannered, well helpful. The colleges have a vast playground, classrooms, labs and auditorium, the fee is reasonable if students opt for regular study in CMR colleges. The libraries are huge and have very good collections of books from the golden days. If had the money and spirit to study sincerely then I could have joined CMR colleges for sure.
I did not know much about campus placements because I am a fresher here. But as I know that past placement records are quite good enough. Many companies visit our campus every year and many students got very good placements at decent posts and ranks. My plan is to get a good placement at campus if I get, if not then I will go for SSC jobs.
The Placement Cell of the college is very active. Companies like WIPRO, CVENT, PWC have visited the campus for mass recruitment. The highest package offered was around 3-4 lakhs per annum and the lowest being 1-2 lakhs per annum. Around 50% of students get placed. Internship programs are also provided and the college also has an entrepreneur cell (ENACTUS MAITREYI) for emerging entrepreneurs and to support their entrepreneur projects.
Fifth semester onwards, the students become eligible to apply for placements. eY, KPMG, TresVista, etc. (around 10-12 companies) visit on regular basis. They offer an annual package of 4L. The packages offered are not very handsome because DCAC doesn't have postgraduation courses. Most of the students opt for further higher studies rather than taking up jobs. The placement record is good though. Around 80% of students get placed. I have planned to prepare for Civil Services after getting my degree. Going for MBA, CA, CS, Acturials, LLB, MCom, MA, UPSC preparation, foreign universities, etc. are the most common plans of students of DCAC if they choose not to go for campus placement.
From semester 4, students become eligible for campus placement. Several reputable companies have to tie up with SGND Khalsa College. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, etc. In 2019, more than 70% of the students get a job through campus placement. I am an English Hons graduate, so became a Content Writer.
The college enviornment force me to opt this as per other college i like most of the thing in this college and the rules and regulation are there, strictness for studies, the college is nearby my house also, and i choose this coarse as i love to read books and novels and stories very much and i want to know more about this and i want to learn more to improve my english
Yes there were many placements held but i dont know much about this as its my first year only so i dont know
It is a very elitist college. You will have to find your own space. A very competitive college. As a fresher you will feel very uncomfortable in the starting, but you will find your space sometimes later. If you want to grow, this college will help you, but for that you will have to participate. Also being a girls college, this college will empower you!
IAAN management is very helpful. They will provide guidance and help you in every small way possible. They are very cooperating and if you ever feel like you need help then you can go to the MD and be rest assured that he will listen and will help you in the best way possible.
