One of the prime reasons for choosing IIM Amritsar over other colleges was that it conducts its own process rather than choosing Candidates through the CAP process. Secondly, it has a good ranking and one of the fastest-growing 3G IIM. Hence, I choose this college over others.
IIM Amritsar offers a major in Marketing, Analytics, HR, Operation, and Finance. The student to faculty ratio is great with a wide range of faculty coming from different institutions such as RBI, IIMs, XLRI, etc.
We are provided with ample opportunity with various roles and domains for internships. Students can fill the EOI as per their interests and future plan. The projects are mostly live and ongoing projects where the students have to apply their skills and come with a real-time solution.
The campus has a record placement of 100% for the past 5 years for both summer and final placement. The companies visiting the college are Adobe, AnandRathi, Cipla, Landmark, ICICI Lombard, etc. My Plans of getting a degree is to get a place in one of the Big 4 auditing firms as I am majoring in finance
2-year fees for IIM Amritsar is 12,00,000 which is great comparing to what other colleges are charging with much better placements and profile. Job and internships are offered during the 2nd and 1st year respectively.
Life at Campus is fun, we have year-round activities like Kritansh followed by our annual fest Aarunya- The annual business, sports, and cultural event. Students from all over India participate in this event.
Facilities provided at the hostel are Fast internet, Mess, Printing, etc. The meals provided are different for all the 7 days as we have changing menu everyday. The process for registration is quite simple and hassle free.
IIM Amritsar doesn't have GD during the interview process. IIM Amritsar conducted WAT and PI for the process of selection. The topic for WAT was "Is India ready for the digital transformation?". I prepared using a mock interview conducted by the coaching institute that I was a part of.
From 2nd year or Term 4, students are eligible for placements. There are lot of companies that came for placements with Cipla, ICICI Lombard, Kotak, Jio Creative Labs, Xiaomi, Shoppers Stop as some of the big names that came for placements. Exact figures are given in the placement brochure and is cent percent reliable.
After the first semester or in between 1st semester the students became eligible for summer internships and campus placements. Companies like ICICI bank (22 seats), ICICI prudential (more than 10), Tommy Hilfiger (5), Byjus (between 6 to 7), HDFC AMC(10 to 12), Sundaram finance (2 to 4) many more companies visited for campus placements. The packages are offered between 3.5 to 10 lakhs annually. The college provides 100% placements to the students. My future plans are to continue work at a selected Company.
From the 4th semester, we become eligible for placements. There are many good companies that visited campus like Xiaomi, Accenture, Dell etc. We can't reveal the highest and lowest package as of now but it is decent enough I can assure for a student being an IIM student.
From the third semester of MBA college is offering campus placement to its students. Every year college is organizing job fest so minimum 15 to 20 companies are taking part in job fest. More than 100 students get selected in evert job fest. The minimum package was 1.8LACS and the maximum package was 5 lacs. My plan after the degree is to be an entrepreneur.
As I was fond of machines and robots so it took me there to take admission and there was a new branch in north India called robotics so I chose that as this would have helped in my future as well as it was my interest. There was an interview by the principle they assessed out interest and knowledge then gave admission to me.
I can just say you will love to study in DAVIET. The management is run by Dr. Manoj And he is the best leader and inspiration for Daviet to future endeavours.
There is an abundance of job opportunity if you have the right skillset and IIMs are known for their placements. There are enough opportunities that one can apply from. Our college has seen companies like the big four, Amazon, byju etc.
Handling 35k students their exams pattern their sitting arrangements. I don't think I have to say about management more.
Conclusion: College is ok, not good in academics due to outdated academic content. Other facilities required by students are good enough during the entire stay of the college. Its been 7 years since the first batch is out in the market but still they haven't been able to get good placements for the current students. Please join this college only if you dont have any other option in your hand as there are more options available even nearby.
