I chose MBA in IIM-Shillong because the course has been designed in such a way that helps to imbibe a holistic approach towards solving the management problems. All the faculties at IIM-Shillong are highly qualified and are PhD holders and are very experienced in their domains. They assist and guide the students in every way possible. The faculty: students ratio is 1:11 at IIM-Shillong. The teaching methods are based on case studies and many guest lectures are conducted.
This year, the highest stipend offered for the summer internships at IIM-Shillong was 3 LPA for 2 months and 100% of students got placed in the internships in reputable companies like Aditya Birla Group. There are many clubs at IIM-Shillong such as The Hult club of IIM Shillong, The operations club of IIM-Shillong, the Marketing Club, Ecell, Niveshak, us HR, Zeitgeist, bITeSys, systems club, conquest, Ecobiz club, and IIMSAGC. Committees present for placement, hostel cultural, public relations, sports, student council, Alumni, and IT committee.
Hostels are very residential and well-managed. Excellently furnished rooms with single and double occupancy with AC, TV, Internet facilities, Water purifiers, and huge cupboards. There's a gym room, recreation room, and a medical examination room available at the hostel. Departmental stores are available at a walkable distance in the IIM-Shillong campus.
Personal interview at IIM-Shillong is conducted for 20 to 25 minutes by 3 expert panelists of various sectors. Questions are mostly asked related to academics, work experience, current affairs, ethics, and personal interests. I was asked questions such as 1. Tell me about the vishvaroopam controversy? 2. Why did you leave the job? 3. How did you manage conflicts at work? 4. Why IIM-Shillong? 5. Who gave hate speech in Andhra Pradesh?. Overall it was good only if you had prepared well
