Admission to Btech Program will be purely on the basis of the performance in the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE(UG)) conducted by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The candidates short-listed based on their performance in the entrance examination will be called for the counseling to be held at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
I have chosen this course because this is trending and awesome, and the software is going higher. Some of the teachers are good are some are average. It depends on your luck what type of teacher you will get. The teaching quality is good. Yes, the course curriculum is good but feels tough for plenty of students due to more syllabus. Exams conducted are more than enough like 4 to 5 cyclic tests are conducted which in turn helps to cover a large portion of the semester and then final semester exam and also the assignments and projects are given according to subject demand.
From the sixth semester onwards students are eligible for the campus placements. The placement scenario of my college is in a good position as compared to the other colleges. Nearly 80-90% got placed but packages vary. The highest packages offered were around 41lacs. The average packages varied between 3.5 - 4.5lacs. Top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and then mass recruiters like Infosys. Sometimes companies like cognizant and Accenture offers good packages.
SRM being a private is a bit expensive but has almost or less than VIT, Manipal, etc. Presently, Yearly expenses in the colleges reach upto 5lacs which includes (3-4lacs) of colleges and (1-2lacs) of hostel+mess fees. As usual, management quota seats hold a high amount of fees which is in every college. My tuition fee is 4lacs per year. No, I didn't get any scholarships. Yes, the colleges provide scholarships to the students who perform very well like getting more than 9 cgpa.
SRM campus is well maintained and beautiful and around 250 acres campus which makes the student be in campus the whole time and enjoy all facilities like sports etc. All types of labs like robotics, machine shops, fluid lab, SOM lab, thermal lab. All types of books available in the library, Asrush and Milan are the two national-level tech fest conducted by the University.
It's in average category for placement in college however staff were informed us to go for off campus outside the college . It was helpfull us during final year. I would recommend to get touch with staff for good placement
Its been a long time since they are innovating the college but not completed yet
The placement did not happen in full fledge, CSS Corp, TCS, and CTS were the major companies that visited us. The average package was anywhere around 2-3.5 CTC. 65% of my batch got placed.
The course was really good. But they don't give you any options for choosing your own electives. We had Concrete Technology and Prefabricated Structures as the default electives.
I prepared for the Tamil Nadu Engineering entrance examination along with my +2 board exams to get admission into Anna University and other top allied Engineering colleges. However, the entrance examination was cancelled at the last moment thereby making it very hard for the students to get into a decent college as the competition was huge. I got the required cut off and I had couple of colleges in mind and Meenakshi was one amongst them.
The placements are good in my college. Not many companies recruit but 75% of the students are placed in the companies that comes for recruitment. Major recruiters are TCS , Tech Mahindra, UST global, HCL, Renault Nissan, Dell. Majority of the students are placed in TCS with a package of 2.75 lacs p.a as an Associate System Engineer. Other companies offer the same compensation. Dell offers 4 lacs.
I got in through anna university sports quota which doesn't requires any entrance exam to get admission the above mentioned college.
Placement and job opportunities are very less in my college compared to other colleges. I totally agree that college or management alone is a reason for that the first thing is we don't have much students to call in a company for their needs.
