Registrations close by the second week of January. The GD-PI rounds occur end of February to the end of March. The course commences from April onwards. It accepts the scores of CMAT/ GMAT/ CAT/ XAT. The cut-off of CAT and XAT lies around 80 to 85 %lie. The GMAT cut-off score is around 600. The admission process is-A)Entrance Exams, B)Shortlists for GD-PI, C)GD-PI round, D)Release of merit list and E) Online Seat Alignment. The pros of the institute include its location-Mumbai. The fees for the two-year program is lump-sum Rs.17.36 Lakhs. However, it is subject to change with updated library, pedagogy and course curriculum. The student-faculty ratio is 20:1. The fees are around Rs 17 lakhs. K J Somaiya offers a vast number of scholarships- need-based, merit-cum-means based, research fellowship, subject-based and interest-based. It is easy to obtain a loan against the fees of the institute as the college is highly reputed and offers decent placements.
The most exciting annual events at the institute include Confluence, Nostalgia, Pangea, Elaan-e- Yudh, National Retail event, Samavesh, Anveshan etc. Students are offered access to case studies, various software and e-books. The student clubs include FORSE, CII-Yi, Quantinnum, Gita Club, Women development cell, Toastmaster Club etc.
The GD occurs in a very orderly manner. In my, there was a total of 12 participants and three panellists. The topic was AI replacing Human Capital. We were given 2 minutes to brainstorm and then the discussion started. Post 10 minutes each one of us was asked to summaries our opinions and decision. The PI involved two panellists -both were visiting faculty at KJ Somaiya. The PI questions included- the experience of my internship with a start-up, my inclination towards foreign language, hobbies, my opinion of women empowerment and fields where it must not be brought in etc.
After two semesters, you are eligible for internships and once your first term gets over then companies start coming and you are being prepared for the interviews by the faculty and certain clubs. In this course in SCMHRD many consulting/IT companies like Accenture, Capgemini, CTS come and banks like Bank of America come to recruit students during campus placements. The average package goes between 12-13 lac but the students getting placed with the higher package and the one with lower has a vast difference. My plan would be to study hard and work regularly on tests and assignments and get placed as early as possible.
Students here are eligible from the start of their summer internship program depending on which company they are placed in. Companies like GEP, Infosys, Wipro visit the campus every year with 50+ offers in total. The highest package is 12LPA by GEP for a consultant role. Around 65% of students get placed.
Our college has a centralized placement system. Our college allows us to apply for multiple companies for the placement. More than 400+ companies visit our college every year. Companies like WIPRO, IDEA, KENT RO, IDBI, PNB are well known and reputed companies. The average package for last year for marketing student was around Rs. 3,50,000/- and the highest package was Rs. 11,00,000/- and for Financial management students it was Rs. 8,00,000/-.
When we are in the 3rd sem we become eligible for placement. Well, reputed companies visit our college campus for placement purposes. Almost 85% of students get placement from our college. HCL, WIPRO, JIO, IDEA, IDBI, PNB are some of the best companies to visit for placement.
Our college has centralized placements schemes even our college brings 400 plus companies for placement they are very reputed companies who provide 8- 10 lacs per annum packages. The companies like Deloitte PWC IDBI, Flipkart, etc.
The campus placement of our college is pretty good, many renowned names come to our college and almost 90% students get placement from our college. The highest package of our college last year is 10 lakhs and average is 6 lakhs. In summer internship 100% students get internship from college which help us in understanding the industry better.

Since this offers me an integrated course of btech+mba in 5 year, I opted for nmims institute Also saving one year was great to hear. I gave the entrance exam called npat in which I scored very well to get the admission. The institute has got it's brand value too.Nmims have it's name in the top 10 business school in india. So anyway it was the best deal I had.
