This college is quite decent when it comes to studying and get placed. It regularly organizes extracurricular activities and fests. Takes admission of only those who scored decently in WBJEE and admission is also quite simple once you have scored good marks and it is located in a very calm and peaceful environment. You can easily avail any kind of transport and buy goods because of its location. Our college focuses on spreading knowledge and thus it gives good placement so if you're a science enthusiast you would love this college.
I had made up my mind to pursue BTech in cse since the beginning of high school. There are almost 7-8 teachers per 100 students. Faculties are highly trained and have vast knowledge in their field. Every 6 months you would have end sem and in between, there will practicals in the lab which are highly advanced equipped. Teachers are caring and pay attention to each student. If you study well you'll definitely score good marks in all exams. There are two unit tests and four assessment based test which college takes and that's super easy if you study regular and follow the instructions of teachers.
Placements are the most fascinating thing about our college. It looks out for its students to get the best placements for them. If you study well you can easily grab a nice placement and boast about it to everyone. Almost around 80% of the students get placed. In the department of CSE and IT, almost everyone gets placed by the end of the final year. After getting the degree I will opt for campus placement and will surely get it.
I am a resident of Bihar, to begin with, so I have availed for a student loan under Bihar Government which has provided my fees and other expenses. Basically, it loans you 4 lacs and after your final year and placement, you can repay them with 4% interest on it. It regularly arranges value added training to boost up the knowledge of students and make them ready to grab placements in big companies. This college is one of the best when it comes to getting students placed in West Bengal.
There are a lot of fests organised in our college. For I am in CSE and there's our tech fest known as Melange. Then there are several fests like Avenir and these are all organised by students council like phoenix members. Classrooms are spacious and comfortable. It also organises annual sports like Intra college annual sports competition around winters.
There was an interview session which was nice and if you have scored good marks in WBJEE you will definitely clear these rounds. You will have to give 4-5 hours for your admission and you need to take one of your parents with you at the time of admission.
From the end of the third year, students are eligible for Campus placements. Popular Tech giants like TCS,Capgemini, Accenture, Genpact, etc companies are visited and approximately all students are got an offer. The highest Package is around 10 LPA and average packages are likely 4-6 LPA. From my department, around 80% of students got placement in many MNC. My plan is to get a good LPA job on campus after that to prepare myself for Govt engineering exam.
Campus selection is good in our college and every year also increases in the number of the company reach in the college. Average Packages offered by companies are 5 to 6 lac per annum. Students after 5 th semester,i e., In third year eligible to sit in campus selection. Each department's students got good placement each year. But chemical, Biotechnology/food technology, Electrical / Mechanical, and CSE department students got more placements capacitively to other departments.
The students become eligible for placements around the 6th or 7th semester. The T&P cell run by students works dedicatedly for placements. The overall placement percentage is 85 to 90 percent since many students opt for higher studies. The overall highest package was 65 lakhs this year and the median salary was above 8 lakhs. Major companies include Airbus, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, Adobe, Google, Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz and much more. After getting my degree, I aim for MS/MBA studies preferably in foreign universities through GRE.
JU has a wonderful placement record for students of the fourth year. The highest package is 42lpa while the average is 19 lpa.80% of students become eligible for placements. More than 150 companies visit the campus. While I plan to pursue an MBA degree by giving either CAT/GRE.
Entrance Exam. Close to my hometown and it was in a nice location and the college had just started its operations with the techno group. The college had a good faculty team an also good infrastructure. About the admission had to give an entrance exam and then the registration had to be done.
One more thing is that if you are choosing this college, then you have to be prepared seriously with the dedication to pursue here. Here, we called ourselves as GCELTians, and every one has a nickname provided by the seniors particularly for the hostelers. There are many technical festivals arranged by our college students, and many training is going on.
Every thing starting from fest to workshops and faculty teachings are appreciated by each of us and even improving along with the infrastructure in every year of growth. Studying in this prestigious college i feel very proud to shout my college name in front of students of other college.
It is a decent govt college located in the 6th biggest city of west bengal and 2nd most advanced city after kolkata. The placement is average here and extracurriculum activies are reasons which can attract you. The campus has almost everthing which a student want from gym to canteen room. Overall it is a good college to have a btech degree and plan your carreer. I urge all to have a positive outlook for this college.
