The college was situated nearer to my home. It is a good college you would get a lot of exposure and education quality is also very good. Admission is done on the basis of your JEE mains rank. Chitkara is the best college among the other college located nearby.
I chose CSE as it is the fastest-growing field. I got admission without any problem. Faculty is good with knowledge of their respective subject. Exams are very frequent every week there is FA and every 1.5 months there are sessional's.
Chitkara is best known for its campus placements. The companies start recruiting from the 6th semester until you are graduate and almost 98% of students are placed. The company with the highest package was 15LPA and the average package is about 4LPA.
A fee is not too much (depends on person to person) it costs around 80000 per semester moreover if you choose bus facility it will cost around 20000-25000 per year. I've been recruited by Gemini solution during campus placements for about 6LPA.
Campus life is very good. Their is a very good canteen known as square one (air-conditioned). There are may sport like badminton, tennis, swimming, basketball. The only downside is the compulsory dress code of the college.
There was no GD or any interview for admission in Chitkara. The admission process is simple you just need to have a JEE mains rank nothing else. Most likely you will get your desired field. No preparation is required for admission.
LPU being a fairly new university has made their name in such a short time and the main reason being their good placement drives. Big companies like Amazon, Cognizant , Capgemini, TCS, Flipkart etc. have visited and selected from the university. The highest package offered have gone above 30 LPA . More than 40 companies have offered dream packages or so said. A great number of students opt for higher studies and get great jobs in companies like google , apple etc.
Since I am in first year so I can't tell anything by experience but I can list the things that I've read and heard. A lot of companies visit the campus and major placements are from the B.tech branch of CSE where 80% of students get placed and if you want a good package so make sure you've done the efforts to earn it from your side. If you've made so good efforts and made your time count in the university, there are higher chances of you bagging a good package.
As soon 4th semester starts, B.Tech students are eligible for placements and placements to start. 4th is more of placements rather than study. The highest package is 42 LPA, and for most, it is 7-8+ LPA. I plan to get a job after the degree.
Basically, you will get more placement opportunities for IT companies and they offer a decent package to students. Companies like Amazon and TCS also visit campus and take 5-10 students with an excellent package. But students must have good skills to get selected. The highest packages are offered by amazon on average 25 lakh. But you can get more good packages by applying off-campus placement drives. Other streams have very few placement opportunities as very few companies visit. So you must aim to get a good CGPA Of 8+ score so that you must be eligible to get eligible for every companies placement drive. If you have plans to go abroad for higher studies, you can avail this opportunity in LPU as many programs offer this service by going to partner universities of LPU in the respective country. So you must be aware of all the available opportunities on the campus to have a good carrier.
Here a total of 800 students per year & about 450 students gets college campus placement. Or no. Getting a job in the armed force or other gov. Jobs. Upto 65 companies visit. Here like Infosys, coca cola, Amazon, hero, Tata, Mahindra, etc. 55% of students get placement.
Placement rates are very good highest placement provided was of 42 lpa and 39 lpa. Generally, 89% of students get placed from this branch. The number of students is fairly high in each branch but then also the university doesn't disappoint in providing placement to a maximum number of students.
I have lived there for Four years and i am proud of my decision to choose LPU. There is nothing to regret about. All i can say is everything is fine. Infrastructure of the college is exceptionally beautiful and mind blowing. Faculties, senior students all are really helpful.
Everthing is good except the staff. The staff should be well educated. And tge students should have the right to wether come to college and wether not means the 75% attendance rule should be changed.
