Motilal Nehru College is certainly not amongst the top tier and most reputed colleges of Delhi University, but it is a very decent college. The College lies in the South Campus of DU, making this college a bit more special than off-campus colleges. It has perhaps the lowest fees in the entire University, infrastructure is also decent, and the canteen is too good and affordable compared to other colleges in South Campus. This college runs in two shifts i.e. morning and evening. Motilal Nehru College (morning) has a brilliant library which is the largest in the entire University. The college has all types of societies and clubs- dance, music, photography, debate, fine arts, Entrepreneur cell, an active Placement Cell, Economics society, etc. The admission process is the same as other colleges of DU (based on the merit list released by DU), the application starts in May- June.
I am pursuing BSc. Physical Science with Chemistry, the reason to choose this course is it's a multidisciplinary aspect, core subjects include mathematics, physics, and chemistry (specialization). The main advantage of this course is that one can go for a master's in any field (i.e. mathematics, physics, chemistry) after graduation, whereas if you go for Hons. courses such as BSc Hons Chem./Phy./Maths, then you'll only be able to do masters in the respective field only. Faculty: student ratio is totally good, and some of the faculty members are highly qualified and extremely good at teaching and methodology to explain concepts. Term exams are conducted at the end of each semester, there are no mid-term exams, also the semester exams are of moderate level, and not much difficult to pass, paper checking is also lenient.
Numerous Internships are offered in various profiles every year by the Placement Cell, mostly to the students of all years and all courses. Profiles include graphic designer, business development, sales and marketing, Some of the past internship recruiters include OYO, EY, Unschool, Careers 360, Career Launcher, Zauba Corp, Dentsu Aegis Network, Teach for India, etc. Many of the internships come with a good stipend range of INR 10,000 to 30,000 per month, fee internships are unpaid too.
The college has an active Placement Cell. It organizes workshops, seminars and provides placement and internships in a wide range of profiles. Major placement opportunities are available to BCom students. Final semester students become eligible for campus placements. As per the stats of 2019-20, the highest package offered was 9 LPA and the average package was 4.3 LPA. Major job profiles were finance, audit, sales, marketing, consultancy, HR operations, etc. and 96+ companies were associated including KPMG, EY, PWC, Deloitte, Decathlon, UrbanClap, Genpact, Chegg, Wipro, FIS, Teach for India, Josh Talks, Inshorts, Careers 360 and many more. However, the percentage of students getting placed is not much greater because most students don't sit in campus placements and go for masters. Generally, BCom graduates are offered better profiles in big companies (KPMG, EY, Deloitte, etc) I am planning to go to MCA after my graduation.
The fee structure of the college is good, it's extremely affordable, Motilal Nehru College comes in the lowest fees category college in the entire University, the maximum fees of any course/program is not more than 12,000 per annum after a minor fees hike happened last year. There are many types of merit and need-based scholarships available for Delhi University students such as Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao endowment book grant, Puran Chand Khatri book grant, and many more, but most of these scholarships are for minorities (SC/ST/OBC) only. The Placement Cell of the campus is very active, it offers numerous internships to students registered to placement cell on regular basis, and also various placement/job opportunities to final semester students. I also got an internship opportunity in Decathlon as a sports leader through the placement cell of college with 12,000 monthly stipends.
To be honest, campus life is well and good. Kaafila, the annual cultural fest of Motilal Nehru College is one of the most keenly anticipated fests, many big celebrities, and singers such as Milind Gaba, Maninder Buttar, Inder Chahal and many more have shown up in past, It's a grand two-day event that attracts a large no. of students from various colleges, it is organized in March. This College has the largest library in the entire University with over 1 lakh books. All books, journals, and magazines are easily available. Classrooms are good, well ventilated and all basic amenities are available but also few classrooms are not good in terms of amenities. All types of sports facilities are available in college, the football team of college is amongst the top in entire University. NCC Batallion and NSS are also available for boys and girls. There are many societies and clubs such as Economics society, commerce society, photography/dance/music, women development cell and many more

For chemistry department students many companies visited the college for placement. 1) Asian paint - this company give highest 20 posts for assistant researcher and average salary about 3-4 lakhs. 2) Jubilant- this pharma company offers 3 posts (approx salary 3.5 lakhs) annually. Approx 50 percent of students get placement through college. after graduation, i want to do a master's in chemistry.
Placements offered by our college are pretty good. All the departments offer exciting placements. The average highest salary package is 5LPA and the lowest is 1LPA. Many good companies come to the college. If in some courses there are no placements, then they offer good internship opportunities too. Some students plan for higher education too after attaining a bachelor's degree.
College placement is 85%. Companies like Wipro, Lido, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein comes to take bright and deserving students. The highest package cracked I know is 4.5Lacs. Many students pursue higher studies from BSc. Mathematics. I will also go for higher studies.
Students become eligible for placements after completing the course. Students have got placements into companies like nestle. Number of students getting placed is approximately 5-6 (not fixed). My plan after graduating is to go for higher studies that is Master of science in clinical dietetics and gain some experience in hospital first, I would also like to gain some industrial experience and simultaneously continue my own practice.
At the start of 5th semester placements start and everyone is eligible to sit for it. Around 50 companies this year as they were online and around 300 offers were made. Highest package 20lakhs. Average package 4 lakhs. Around 25% students got placed.
The placement of the college is very good from the 2nd semester you become eligible for campus placement. There are 20-30 companies who visited for the interview and the lowest package is 5-6 lakhs and the maximum package is 25-30 lakhs. There are 80% of the students got their placement in their college time and earn many more from that. I want to go for civil services after my graduation.
3rd-year students are eligible for placements. The highest package of 2020 was of Mc Kinsey with 8lpa and average package of SGTB Khalsa 3 to 4 LPA. The students are mostly places from commerce courses as the big fours come for them. The percentage of students getting placed is 60% and I feel, I might opt for a job after a degree which is suitable as everything is work from home for now.
