The overall experience is really awesome. Now let talk about the detailed review. Before getting the IIT Kanpur I was not sure that I would get in IIT Kanpur. my hope was off to get it Delhi but due to rank, I got IIT Kanpur. But the fact is that IIT Kanpur is the best of all colleges in terms of providing the students to select their interested topic or subject and do a major and minor degree in them irrespective of their branch. A chemical branch or other branch student can study computer science and can make minor and major into them. The students are free to do anything on the campus of IIT Kanpur like doing projects and some work of their branch. The college also has a private running track for aerospace aircraft and it is the only college with it. And the campus size is really very large and is about 1050 acres and lots of grounds and much free space to walk ride cycle or play. And one thing you required a cycle to travel to the classroom as they are far away from the college.
The faculty at IIT Kanpur are very much qualified and very intelligent in their respective fields. They are doing their best in providing online sem resources through college website college mails and many others thing. About the ratio, I would not talk because I also have no idea as I have not to get in the campus because of the vivid virus. but from research, it's about 6:1. Now let's talk about academics. As one of the premium institutes, the academic of the college is very strict. Their specific time means the exact time and you have to do your best in the academics because they provide a hard syllabus in their semester. Lastly, I would say in terms of academics it is very strict
The college provides both on or off the campus placement opportunities. Many companies visit the campus including Microsoft, Google, Samsung. To get the placement you should qualify their requirements and should clear their interview. One thing I would tell you that companies don't look for cpi but they really look for intelligence, behavior, working skills.
The placement in the campus starts from the last of 3 years or the start of 4 years and you got internship opportunities from the first year yes the first year. The companies are full of their interest in the college including Google Microsoft and all other good companies. The highest placement till now is 1.5 crore per annum. And if you have cs branch then you would surely got a good package. The average package is about 17 LPA
The fee structure is available on iitk website you can check it there as it differs from a branch by branch. But the yearly fee is about 2 lac in general. About the scholarship, the institute is very good. It provides a lot of opportunities for a student to take benefits if the family income is low or the financial condition is not good enough to manage. About placements, it is one of the best as last year 4 students got 1.5 crore package defeating IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay in terms of largest package. If you work hard you will 100 perc get a placement as opportunities in this institute are provided in a large amount.
The campus is not open for y20 so I have no experience with it. But from my seniors and videos, I would tell you that life at the campus is very fun and a very excellent experience of life. It includes many festivals including the popular one antragini that happens in the month of March or April And another is techkriti that is the largest tech festival all over. About the hostels, it has 13 branches of hostels and each of them includes their ground, sports complex and, gym, cycle stand and many such things. College life is full of extra things to do you can enroll in any clubs including robotics club, electrical club, finance club, and many more. For social groups, you should search it on social platforms as there is no specific group for it.
The hostels are very good in all the terms like the size, the environment, the availability, all-time open canteens and much more. It also provides wifi that is really very very fast about 300 Mbps and if you use lan cable then you should be able to get about 1 Gbps speed that is extremely fast. I am sure that if you got a life in this you would love it and never forgot it
The only criteria to get admission in the IIT Kanpur of btech degree is JEE ADVANCED with a very good score. First, you have to qualify for jee mains to get entrance in jee advance exam. If you qualify for both the exam then you will have to register for jossa where you have to provide your preference in order then there would be rounds giving first the students with higher rank their college choice and with the low rank are being selected. If you got a college by jossa in the last round then you have to accept it. If you got a seat then you have to submit your documents to the college and the jossa then you would get admission in the college
Students are eligible to take part in a college placement drive during their 3rd year in the UG degree. From what I've heard, the placement committee is good, and the companies offering placement are the top companies in India including the top auditing firms like Infosys, HCL, WIPRO, etc.
Students have to complete an internship program in their area of specialization during the 7th semester. All the students after their 6th semester become eligible for campus placements. The placements offered are very good. Companies like Infosys , Wipro, HCL, IBM, Amazon, etc. depending on the course studied. At the end it depends on the capability of the student.
In my 3rd year or can say during the 5th and 6th semester I started appearing in campus placements. Now, the name of the companies visited our college were Naukri.com, TCI, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant, Amazon, Trade India, Genpact.
Students are eligible from the penultimate semester for placements. Accenture and Wipro were bulk recruiters with 1000+ offers, pay package was 3.5 lakh PA The biggest pay was from a Japanese company, only 2 offers made at 32 lakh PA
I chose MNNIT Allahabad as it is one of the best engineering colleges in north India. Moreover, it has great coding culture and placement statistics. The institute is 60+ years old and thus has a great alumni base, to take guidance from. Plus, it was the first college in India to start a Computer Science and Engineering branch. The admission process takes place through JoSAA after giving Jee Mains exam. I read various blogs on quora for comparing my own college with other IITs and NITs and came to the conclusion that I will choose MNNIT.
Our college is quite well known for campus placements and average as well as highest package is very good. Companies visiting for software development are very good including Microsoft, Amazon, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Myntra, Flipkart, Codenation, etc. More than 90% of the students get placed (in software field) every year and the rest opt for higher studies or civil services or entrepreneurship. I want to go for corporate job after getting my B.Tech degree.
Placements are been offered from the 6th semester. Many companies are visiting in college. The whole year companies are coming and offering jobs to students. Average package is about 4 lakhs per annum and the highest is more than 8-10 lakhs. Percentage required is just 60%. After getting the degree I have planned for the job. Ist I will go for govt jobs than private.
