For me since Iam only in the first year thus I haven't seen any that much negative remarks for the college but to mention, the only negative remark for me is the connectivity issue as the college is in rohini sec. 22 and 5-6 km away from rithala so I reside in west delhi Janakpuri area so to come by metro or bus it took much time as it is 15-16km away from my home. But the nearest bus stop is Rohini sec. 21 which is hardly 200m away fromt he college. For a positive remark, the main thing I want to point is that the placement record for the college is very much decent. The college also have a definitely good infrastructure and a god campus as compared to any other affiliated college of IPU.The main auditorium is also very much big and good.
This college has a decent course curriculum according to me.As the exam structure is basically divided into two sections in a semester i.e Internals and Externals which are also called as Mid-Term and End-Term Examination. As the college is affiliated to the IP University thus the End-Term Examination is held and conducted by the University itself. The Internals are also divided into two part 1st sessional amd 2nd sessional.1st sessional is of 25 marks which afterwards gets normalized to 15 marks to the total and the 2nd sessional is of 15 marks which then normalized into 5 marks to the total. Thus from these two sessionals a total of 20 marks is added to the total and the rest of 5 marks is upto the college i.e for attendance, assignments, behavior, discipline et.Therefore from 100, 25 marks is givem by the college itslef and for the rest 75 marks End Term Examination is being conducted by the university.
This the main and first criteria a student look after when he/she shortlist a college of their choice, that's how I shortlisted this college and this is also one of the main reason why this college is among the best affliated college of IP University because of their placement records.A bunch of good companies do visit here but since their is no banner so no any tech giant used to visit this college hut students are very talented they have last year cracked Microsoft with a package of around 30lakhs that's why this year AMAZON visited our college and also 6 students got selected.Their is Training and placement cell for the students and also provide internships.
Their are lot of events organised by the college, the main 3 days annual techno cultural fest of the college is MAIT Techsurge and Mridang organized in the month of march.Their is also a 2 day sports fest Udaan and enigma conducted in January. Also their is 3 day fest conducted by the university in the month of feb. in which all the affiliated college students are invited and those 3 days are given as holiday. Non IPU students are not allowed to attend the fest. This year Guri came in the 2nd day for the Punjabi Night and Benny Dayal came in the 3rd day.Last year Kailash Kher came. Thus there is alot of exposure which is being provided to the student if they come to our college and be a part of state government IP University.
As compared to the other private college the fees is very much feasible with reference to the course that is being pursed as B.Tech is a professional course and that too if pursued in a private college will almost cost like around 12-15 lakhs on an average. But since the college is affiliated under the IP University which is a state government university so the fees is very much decent and feasible for the course pursed. For this year the fees has hiked by 25k but also it is not that much expensive, the total annnual fees is around 1.25 lakhs.
As far as loan is concerned I have not applied for it as the fees is not that much high and could be affordable but basically I have not seen any kiosk of bank or something like any other college during counseling which offer loan but their is portal of Vidya Lakshmi which help students to avail loan which can be find in the college website i.e mait.ac.inFor scholarship, yes I do have applied for the same as this college comes under the state government so the student welfare scheme i.e Merit-cum-means Linked Financial Assistance Scheme launched byt the Delhi government back in 2017 is applicable for only delhi state government colleges and so for this college. It can be applied through delhi edistrict portal i.e edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in and after submitting the required documents online we have to submit one set of copy to the college also. For a student having total family income less than 1 lakh per year their is 100% scholarship on tution fees. For student having total family income between 1 lakh to 2.5 lakhs their is a scholarship of 50% and the main slab in which most of the middle income category student fall is for the students having total famoly income between 2.5 lakhs to 6 lakhs per annum, 25% scholarship on the tution fees is being provided. Also here like any other college it is not like that tution fees have shown less due to which their will not be much benefit of the scholarship but here out of 1.25 lakhs the total tution fees is 1.12 lakhs which is almost the total fees.Apart from the category a student fall in, an additional Rs. 5k is being given in this given to a student annually. Also a student must scored a 60% in previous academic year to avail this scholarship. For SC/ST 55%.
The college is also performing very well in the extra curricular activities.Their are various socities in the collge be it cultural, dramatic, art, dance, modelling, cinematography, technical etc.Our Dramatic society AAYAM is very well known and has been out performing at various level.Sports facilities are also very decent, their is a footbal ground, basket ball court, volleyball court, lawn tennis court, speacilized inside badminton court. Their are also two sperate halls named as Boy's room and Girl's room which have Table Tennis, Carrom etc. to play. So basically their is very much overall diversity a student can have while they study during 4 year of graudation.
Since Iam a Delhite and not an outsider so I have not opted for the hostel but my friends do hve opted for it and I have also seen it as it is near our block so I can conclude that hostel has a good infrastructure nd facilities as compared to other college.
Yes, their is a strong alumini network and also the meet and greet take place at certain intervals of time.Seniors are also very helpful and their is no attitude or anything also the college is strict against ragging.
I have appeared in JEE MAIN 2019 and have applied for the registration process of GGSIPU counseling online through its website as this college is affiliated to the IP University. So as the counseling round goes on the college gets upgraded, I have put MAIT among the top of my preferred choice list in the counseling process and thus in the final round its a bang, I have got one of the best private college affiliated to IP University which I didn't accept at all after I screwed up in the JEE MAIN.
Lile any other college here also it is not like that all of the faculty is great but there are also some good and dedicated faculty like for the first year our Maths professor Ashish Sir is very much dedicated that's why there is 80-90% attendance in his lecture, chemistry professor Namita Ma'am is also good prof. but rest all are more or less the same.
Our placements were done with Amity University Noida students as that college being our college's parent organization. All renowned IT companies like Amazon, Capgemini, E&Y, Accenture etc came many lesser fortune companies also visited approx 280 companies visited across all streams. The highest Placement was 12 LPA and the average was 4 LPA. 40% of students got placement as almost 40-45% failed to become eligible due to backlogs. We started undergoing placement in Seventh Semester. I will be working for some time and then look for PSU through GATE.
The best thing about this college is its placements. Since it has a tie-up with Amity university Noida, we get to sit in their placements as well. It is especially heaven for Computer science and IT background students as every day new companies come to recruit the students. Companies like Accenture, Hexaware, TCS, Shell, E&Y, and a lot more are the main recruiters.
From the 7-semester placement, the session is going on and the whole 7 and 8-semester placement session is running. There are many companies visited on our campus like TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Amazon AWS, Infosys, and many more but in our college, many students take off-campus placement currently one student from Computer Science fourth-year student grab 52 lakh job from Byte Dance (Singapore) Company. Around 75-80% of CSE and IT students were placed from campus placement. I plan to grab a good job from good companies from campus or off-campus.
There are 8 semesters overall. A student becomes eligible after 6 semesters for campus placements. Meanwhile, you can go for internships after sem1 only. About 100 companies visit the college every year. And IITD has a really high placement percentage (~80%).
Placement Experience: The placements here are one the best features of the college. It is the heart of the college, most of the people who come here leave with 2-3 jobs in their hands, and most of them are quite well-paying jobs. The students in the final year are eligible to sit at placements and have to register themselves at OCS (offer of career services), The average placement is about 8-9 lac per annum, even for non-tech jobs. highest ranging up to 30-35 LPA from Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Microsoft. Many students who don’t opt for placements have a lot of chances to go for higher studies, either here or abroad.
Now coming to the placements I have seen 80 percent of students bagging a decent placement of 8lpa or above with the highest package of 40lpa by adobe. The average placement package is 4lpa. With many students getting more than 1 offer I think it is safe to say it is quite decent.
From 7 semester students become eligible for placement and also can do an internship for 2 and 3 years. 170+ companies visited last year in NSUT such as apple, Google, Schlumberger, uber etc. and more than 300+ offers made. And to my knowledge, the highest package is 1.25 crore and the lowest is 4 lacs. 100% of students get placed from tech branches and 85% of students gets placed from core branches. And my dream is to get placement from college with a good salary.
I had to finalize from IIT Bombay or IIT Delhi. Industrial engineering was only available in IIT Rourkee & IIT Delhi. This made my choice clearer and also III Delhi is amongst the best engineering colleges in India & is located in New Delhi- a prime location, as well as e place where there is lot of opportunities for internships & placements.
IIT Delli has the best placements. This was one of the reasons I opted for my engineering at this very institute. Placements starts from 7th sem. More than 500 companies visit the campus. The packages go as high as 1 Cr CTC. In yr 2020 almost 100% students were placed who appeared for placements.
Well it's near my home town. Always heard about the placements, good peer, competitiveness among students. One of the top teir colleges right after the good IITs and NITs. Government colleges generally buy you a lot of time to explore your other interests. A couple of my acquaintances have passed out and thats something that has always made me wanna go there. Apparently they all have been placed really good and I hope the same for myself :)
From what I've seen placements seem to be really good for the computer based branches and a little sore down the aisle All the good companies come to recruit generally placements are good.
