I am pursuing my B.Tech in ECE from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Before 2 years, ipu takes admission on the basis of Ipu set as well as jee the main score. But now University has decided to take admission on the basis of jee main. GGSIPU is a government university so it's valuable and also the fee is not very high, but also not very low as well. There teaching criteria and structure is very good, 60 students per classroom is eligible. Teachers are well educated from iit,nit and from reputed college. LAB facilities are really good, everyone has treated the same way in the lab, there is no partiality with the student. Good infrastructure, good yearly festivals called anugoonj, so many celebrities are coming here for performance. Overall it's a really good college. There is approx 12 collage under GGSIPU, there is a loophole because every college has a different fee structure which tends from 60000 to 1 lakh, so I can say you all focus on entrance exam is important.
There's are so many faculty from iits, nits, they have good subjects knowledge and their approach towards making students understand the subjects is really well. But also some faculty who not much intrested and responsible, But a maximum number of faculty really cares about the students and carries good knowledge also. In my department, so many faculty who teach us in a very responsible manner, they motivated us to push ourselves and think big in our life, they also tell us about the demand of the future, also practical things are more important in engineering so they also encourage us to learn things practically as much as possible. Because engineering is all about practical, so they try to give us practical examples while teaching.
Well, there are so many students who got placements of more than 20lakhs per annum, If I talk about the average placement its 6 lakh /pa College provides placements facilities So many reputed companies like Facebook, Amazon, Flipkart, byjus have come for placement. I must say your placement is totally dependent on your skills so try to develop your skills from the first year. Take help from your faculty, and ask them which skills is helpful in getting me a better job
Well, that is the point of discussion, The fee is very from college to college which is come under the University. So it varies from 60000 to 1 lakh till 2020, but there is a problem came in 2020 when whole India is suffering from coronavirus. This university hike the fee by 12.5% approx, and this hike is for the years 2020 and 2019 as well, and this thing really not expected from the university, it's really disappointing all the students. This is the problem of the university. We have to pay our total fee in 2020, as well as the free hike which is applied on the year 2020 as well 2019. I hope after that they will not gonna raise the fee. Yes they provide scholarship to the student who came in Marit list. So it's depend on the student that how much they work for it.
GGSIPU has a very big campus, social life is really good, they organise sports competitions, also annual functions and so many kinds of social events. So you are able to enjoy your college life, because you get new friends, you will learn so many things in your college life. They're organizing annual events called anugoonj, unfortunately, this covid-19 destroyed our college life. But hope this will gonna go from us forever. So that our upcoming students are able to enjoy their college life. Because your college gives you the growth in your personality.
Our placements were done with Amity University Noida students as that college being our college's parent organization. All renowned IT companies like Amazon, Capgemini, E&Y, Accenture etc came many lesser fortune companies also visited approx 280 companies visited across all streams. The highest Placement was 12 LPA and the average was 4 LPA. 40% of students got placement as almost 40-45% failed to become eligible due to backlogs. We started undergoing placement in Seventh Semester. I will be working for some time and then look for PSU through GATE.
The best thing about this college is its placements. Since it has a tie-up with Amity university Noida, we get to sit in their placements as well. It is especially heaven for Computer science and IT background students as every day new companies come to recruit the students. Companies like Accenture, Hexaware, TCS, Shell, E&Y, and a lot more are the main recruiters.
From the 7-semester placement, the session is going on and the whole 7 and 8-semester placement session is running. There are many companies visited on our campus like TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Amazon AWS, Infosys, and many more but in our college, many students take off-campus placement currently one student from Computer Science fourth-year student grab 52 lakh job from Byte Dance (Singapore) Company. Around 75-80% of CSE and IT students were placed from campus placement. I plan to grab a good job from good companies from campus or off-campus.
There are 8 semesters overall. A student becomes eligible after 6 semesters for campus placements. Meanwhile, you can go for internships after sem1 only. About 100 companies visit the college every year. And IITD has a really high placement percentage (~80%).
Placement Experience: The placements here are one the best features of the college. It is the heart of the college, most of the people who come here leave with 2-3 jobs in their hands, and most of them are quite well-paying jobs. The students in the final year are eligible to sit at placements and have to register themselves at OCS (offer of career services), The average placement is about 8-9 lac per annum, even for non-tech jobs. highest ranging up to 30-35 LPA from Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Microsoft. Many students who don’t opt for placements have a lot of chances to go for higher studies, either here or abroad.
Now coming to the placements I have seen 80 percent of students bagging a decent placement of 8lpa or above with the highest package of 40lpa by adobe. The average placement package is 4lpa. With many students getting more than 1 offer I think it is safe to say it is quite decent.
From 7 semester students become eligible for placement and also can do an internship for 2 and 3 years. 170+ companies visited last year in NSUT such as apple, Google, Schlumberger, uber etc. and more than 300+ offers made. And to my knowledge, the highest package is 1.25 crore and the lowest is 4 lacs. 100% of students get placed from tech branches and 85% of students gets placed from core branches. And my dream is to get placement from college with a good salary.
I had to finalize from IIT Bombay or IIT Delhi. Industrial engineering was only available in IIT Rourkee & IIT Delhi. This made my choice clearer and also III Delhi is amongst the best engineering colleges in India & is located in New Delhi- a prime location, as well as e place where there is lot of opportunities for internships & placements.
IIT Delli has the best placements. This was one of the reasons I opted for my engineering at this very institute. Placements starts from 7th sem. More than 500 companies visit the campus. The packages go as high as 1 Cr CTC. In yr 2020 almost 100% students were placed who appeared for placements.
Well it's near my home town. Always heard about the placements, good peer, competitiveness among students. One of the top teir colleges right after the good IITs and NITs. Government colleges generally buy you a lot of time to explore your other interests. A couple of my acquaintances have passed out and thats something that has always made me wanna go there. Apparently they all have been placed really good and I hope the same for myself :)
From what I've seen placements seem to be really good for the computer based branches and a little sore down the aisle All the good companies come to recruit generally placements are good.
