I opted for CS in SRM and Thapar but the seats were not available. In UPES, JEE percentile was required to avail scholarships. There was no specific procedure for admission, we just had to fill the online form and they will provide a counselling date and on that day we had to fill certain forms and the payment procedure will take place.
I opted for Computer Science due to my career reference as an SDE. The faculty are fabulous and due to covid times, they are taking extra precautions towards the assignments. The ratio of Girls and Boys are good. The main exams are held for 2 times in a year and minor exams for 2 times in a semester. The exam pattern is nice and no difficulty to pass them.
Since we are in covid phase students so there is no sufficient knowledge regarding the internships and companies offering them. The projects we are working on our individual work due to fewer internship opportunities.
Students after 3rd year are eligible for placement registration. Some of the top Companies take place during our placement time and offers are average. Upes is linked with IBM so they provide mass recruitment.
The fees are a bit high as compared to other universities which seem to be a main disappointing factor about the UPES even after considering all the facilities provided by them. During the first lockdown, they provide certain relief criteria for fees. I'm a 3rd year student and during this phase, we were not able to grab an internship at the University.
The university is always enlightened up with some fests or programme or competitions organised by clubs or groups. The ambience of the classrooms is well settled with proper facilities inside the room. Once a year, the university organize a 3 day sports day and other side games are included also.
The hostel is a bit disappointing due to high fees and low level of maintenance. The mess is also not up to the mark. The menu is decided once a month and for the whole month, the menu goes on a loop. The registration process was easy as on the counselling day only, all the procedure for hostels are sorted.

In 2020 1645 students have participated in the campus placement and 1470 students got placed which means 89% of students get placed. Average salary of engineering is 4.50lpa Highest salary of engineering is 15lpa
College really tries hard to get all the people placed but NIT all student get placement some goes for higher studies some get offline offers. Those who are getting offline placed are in much better company than the student getting placed through on campus.
From the 7th semester, a student is eligible for campus placement. Think and learn about Wipro and some others companies as well. The highest package is 6 lakhs per annum. Around 20-30% of students got placed. My plans are to study and get an assistant engineer or junior engineer job.
I am currently in my 2nd year going to 3rd year so I cannot answer any of these questions. The highest package was 45 LPA last year and the average is I think 10 LPA. Some company names are Microsoft, Xebia, Dell, Infosys, etc. 100 percent of students were placed in Computer science branch last year. My plans after getting the degree are to do M-Tech.
Generally from 7th-semester students become eligible for campus placement. The placement of IIT Roorkee is very good. The placement percentage is around 60 %. While other students go for other competitive exams like UPSC civil services, UPSC IES, etc. A lot of renowned companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc visited the campus for the placements. Some Students get packages in crores and the average package is also good. I plan to crack UPSC civil services exam after completion of my degree.
The management must understand the financial problem of any student and help him. Also the management should not impose useless fines.
