The admission is based on the marks in the Bachelor of Science level. There are 3 streams of B.Sc. level which gets considered Physics, Mathematics & Computer Science. I had first class of 65% in B.Sc Level.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
The fee structure was quite competitive & feasible . Being a government funded university the fee was very minimal .I can recall on the first year the fee was something like 100 Rupees (during 20002002 time frame) , you can't imagine that type of fee now a days .
I'd not say placement was very good OR our placement cell was very active. We got opportunity to sit for campus interview for some of teh companies like Texas Instrument but only 10% got absorbed from campus interview. Though later almost everybody got job from off campus drive and some of the students gone for higher education like PHD.
The exam structure is pretty rigid. We used to have yearly exam process followed by practical exams. There were good options of using lab over the weekend also OR till the late hours. There used to be guest examiners during Lab examination or viva.
The college used to give internship to some extend & not to everyone. That is little bit shortcoming as quite number of students need to do their own internship arrangement.
We used to have departmental inauguration celebration along with University foundation celebration. We also used to have Saraswati puja celebration which was quite a fun & contains a lot of very good memories. Along with that we used to have yearly REUNION with alumni.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
There were some limited scholarship facility that also given to needy students. Though any student can apply for the student loan ( specially from SBI on the university campus). Along with the fee was not so high so it was pretty manageable.
