IHM Pusa, B.Sc(HHA), Hospitality And Hotel Administration

Reviewed on Jul 7, 2022(Enrolled 2019)

Remarks

The admission process is quite efficient but the result for nchm exam could be declared early if possible as in many cases you have to make payment for IIHMs but if you don't, and you don't get your desired IHM. It will be disappointing

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as it provides a way into the hospitality sector. Faculty over there is quite experienced but there is a bit of back bitching. Term exams are quite easy if you are good at study. There are mid terms and end terms

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Internships Opportunities

It is mandatory for each student to do internship in second year of the degree. This also provides practice for the final placements. Internship offers are made after proper selection process. All top 5 star rated hotels visit the campus.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students of 5th semester can sit for placements. The placement cell is quite impressive. Although placement process may get long and frustrating depending on the company. About 30 companies visit. Highest package being 19 lacs for 2.5 yrs. Avg package 3 lpa. About 70% students seeking placements are placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee Structure of IHM pusa is quite vague according to me as being a govt. College, it should provide cheaper education but it is not the case. Also the fee is hiked at about 5-7% per annum. There isn't any scholarship to be particular. I got job at ABFRL with 4.75 lpa

Campus Life

3.5

You can visit their official website. There are many groups like vakta, kaladhar, asavari etc which are writing, drama, singing, art and many others. This provides a fun experience and edge over others as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel is provided for the first year only. The facilities provided were gym and volleyball court. Indian seats only. No ac or cooler, only fans. The mess food is quite ok. You get non veg every Friday. Hostel is quite affordable.

Hostel Fee: INR 65000 per year

IHM Pusa - An Inside View

Likes

State-of the art facilities and the infrastructure of the institute were a few of the best things that we highly appreciated in college.
Exposure to hospitality professionals helps in building and developing confidence along with gaining hands-on experience.
Extra-curricular activities like Swacchata Drive, People of Pusa, Visiting Faculties for Demo-sessions, etc., helps students with their personality development and their personal growth.

Dislikes

Poor connectivity inside the college area due to jammers.
Less number of hours hostellers can stay out for.
Less number of accommodation for students in hostels.

Placement Experience:

In second year of college, all the stuidents are required to go for Industrial training where many groups/organisations accept applications for Industrial trainees. Many hotel chains like The LEELA, ITC, LALIT, etc,. visit the college for placements along with other organisations from different industries as well. Post pandemic, the placement ratio has sky-rocketed to 70-80%.

Getting into this College is a matter of pride for an average student like me.As it was not easy to choose between many institutes which offered the same course but the scope for advancement in my skills here was the highest of all.I collected the application form from the admission window as I stay nearby the campus. After the joint entrance test by Kurukshetra University, I got selected for the interview, and with complete documents and essentials,I got into this institution to work towards my dreams.

IHM Pusa - An Inside View

The NCHMCT, organises an exam under the name of NCHM-JEE, where students who wish to apply and pursue their careers into the hospitality sector can appear and give the exam. There are mainly three category of colleges - Government, Semi-Government and Private Institutions. As per the rank accquired by the examinee, the colleges are alloted to the particular student based on the preference of the colleges asked. I preferred IHM Pusa over IHM Mumbai as I was sure about getting into the topmost ranked cullinary institute in our country. Eligibility criterias are that you need to score atleast 50% in Class 12th along with English being a compulsary subject....Read More

The story of IHM , PUSA

To enter any IHM, you must have passed your 12th standard with a minimum of 60% marks. The application form was filled on the NCHMCT website (http://www.nchm.nic.in) where you can register from Feb-May. They have reservations for EWS, OBC, SC, and ST. After the commencement of the examination, the ranks come and, on the basis of the rank cut off, are made for each IHM. The entire process of admission was very smooth. It took only one day (half) to get admission to the college....Read More
