At end I would like to say, this is one of the budding institute in Maharashtra, with many facilities for students to develop their engineering knowledge, encouraged by college management.
I have completed diploma in mechanical engineering. I scored 81% in the final year of diploma. I decided to go the institute which will improve my knowledge both in theoretical and practical works. I found the this college as per my aim.
There are different engineering branches available in this college. I took admission in mechanical engineering branch. The course structure for this branch was decided by Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The structure fulfilled my all theoretical and practical requirements. The timetable for this course was decided by college staff. For every subject there was a practical slot, so that I can understand everything in that subject.Industrial visits were also arranged by faculty.
No, my college do not provide internship. When I was in the last year , the college administration were thinking about providing internships for students. But that was not for us. Hope they will provide the internships from next year.
Our placement department department is working hard for providing placement opportunities to students. 30% to 40% of the total students got placed in the last year. Overall package is 2-3 LPA. Companies like AIS, IBM, Ronch Polymers, TE Connectivity,Aegis, Hinduja Group, etc are made available for students.
There are many events celebrated by the students in college. One of the biggest event is "Sharadotsav", it is a cultural and sports event, in which many of the students participate. Apart from this many technical events are also organised by the students associations like MESA, CESA, etc. College has student chapters of ISTE, ISHRAE. Many workshops are held under these student chapters.
Fee structure is feasible as compared to others. For open category the fee is Rs. 74000/-. This includes tution fee, development fee, stationary fee, university fee, caution deposit, admission form fee, eligibility fee, identity fee, DTE insurance fee, etc.
All of the government scholarship facilities are provided by the administration of college. There is no loan facility in college, but earn and learn scheme is provided by administration of college. I have availed PTC scholarship by college.
The college has pleasing campus life. The gender ratio is approximately 1:1. There are many extra-curricular activities made available by college like sports, cultural competitions, technical events, etc. The most important activity is UG Fellowship, in which college has made available scholarship of European universities for students. All the labs of college are well maintained.
Hostel facility provided by college is very good. Separate hostel is provided for boys and girls. The hostel is near college at a walking distance. Boys hostel has 3 floors, each floor has 12 rooms and bathrooms are provided separately for each floor. Each room has 4 members. Bed is provided by hostel authority. They have provided purified drinking water for students. Hostel Gym is also provided. The only thing is that, the college has not provided any mess facility. Students have to go for private mess, which is quite hectic.
The alumni network is not strong enough to help the junior students. The college is trying to improve the alumni network.
Exam structure was decided by Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Semester pattern is there for exam. Each semester has both practical exam and theory exam. Apart from this, college faculty takes test for each chapter regularly so that they will come to know about students ability. It feels quite hectic by the end of the day after completing the daily schedule.
For getting admission to this college, I registered my name in the CAP process conducted by DTE Maharashtra. The notification for registration released in the month of July. After registration, DTE announced the dates of CAP1,CAP2 and CAP3. As per the instructions of DTE, I filled the CAP1 round option form. Then, DTE declared the result, in which I got this college. Then, I went to college and completed my registration. The administrative work of this college is too fast that, I took only 1 hour to complete all the registration work.
The faculty of this college is highly qualified in respective fields of engineering. All of them satisfy the students needs. Few of faculty are Phd holder, where few are pursuing there Phd. All of the faculty have completed there master degree in respective fields from well-known colleges like IIT, NIT,COEP,WCOE, etc.
After the 3rd year, students are trained for interviews and placements. More than 100 companies make more than 800 offers. The highest package was 36.8 LPA, and the average is 6.8 LPA. As of last year, from the electronics and telecommunication department, 80 out of 120 students were placed. From the first year itself, GHRCE trains students for the placements. I plan to do my MS or Mtech after graduation.
There is a dedicated team for training and placements. Over the past year, the college has observed a high percentage of student placements with various big-name companies like Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, LTI, etc coming for placement drives. In terms of training, the college students are provided with a rigorous 2-week aptitude training at the start of 5th semester and weekly aptitude tests are conducted thereafter until the last semester. With ample training provided to students, the placement rates are bound to increase even more in the coming years.
Good college for all-round development of students.
I choose the college as it was under the MIT group of Institutions. Another reason was the college has become autonomous. Along with that the level.of exposure the college provides the students is international.
Management is not good specially ceo of the college very rude
My conclusion about college is its overall good college.
Positive aspect is college monitors each and every activity and help students to grow. Talking about Negative aspect college is less oriented towards practical approach of learning 5he things as it insists more on writing the things more than single time to remember it.
The college does not feel like a engineering college should be. No active participation of students and teachers as college authorities do not arrange any activities that a college should do. No activity clubs. Nothing
This college is a school you have to do college regularly with book completion assiment practical and all this thing is good but not too much. The internal and all given by college is strictly based on ur performance ur prensenty
