No bad highlights whatsoever, In my opinion Jipmer is the one of the best Colleges in india for undergraduate medical learning with the high patient load providing ample opportunities to hone ones clinical skills.
I took jipmer entrance in 2011. It was MCA type paper .I secured 175/200 marks and got 6th rank. I chose Jipmer because it is one of the premier institutes in india for medical learning.
The main intercollegiate festival of Jipmer is called SPANDAN. it involves all fields like literary, debating, sports, culturals and many more. it is the largest intercollege fest in south india with participants from all over the country.
Centrally sponsored scholarships ara available for schediuled castes and schedules tribes.
Campus life is active. The town of pondicherry is unique with its scenic beachfront just 5 km from the college. One also has the option of making a visit to the various restaurants and and the french town that the town is famous for. In short, it has all that you need, without the hustle bustle of a big city/metro.
* After the completion of the course, the internship is provided by the management and fees will 25000 per month for one year. * The management will provide internships for all the students after passing the final exam. * After passing I will study PG.
The admission procedure is simple. I had to fill the application form and submit it online on the official website. The admission is based on the NEET-UG entrance examination marks. The students are also supposed to have a minimum of 50% in the 10+2.
The college has a compulsory six months internship program. Every student is required to do internship in the final year. The college also provides placement opportunities to the students. They get placed in the medical institutes.
The course syllabus for us is very much updated. We are provided enough industrial exposure, very better than anywhere else. Our Faculties are very very good And approachable anywhere anytime.
I don't know If any scholarship are available from the institution. From minority students with low income and scheduled caste, scheduled tribe students, the central govt provides scholarship if approached through the institution
Admission is given on the basis of NEET exam scorecard, students want admission to 5 years Full-time MBBS Program should have passed 10+2 with subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. English is also a mandatory subject.
There were 150 students per class when I joined in 2016, and now they have increased the strength up to 180. If you can work hard, you can always win the race. The college provides an internship with a monthly stipend of around 7000.
Overall, studying in this college is a wholesome experience. At first, the students would feel difficulty in adjusting, especially language problems. Tamil is widely spoken by everyone here. Once they learn the basics and start communicating with patients, they get a hang of everything here.
Good remarks are Discipline, students council, friendly staff and no ragging policy. Debatable is no leggings policy and junk food at canteen.
