Overall I can rate Chitkara as a good college you can take your chance with and try to establish a new life. Now that you are here, pass through all the fun, struggles and become a good human with a decent job and life.
JEE- Mains. I scored 92 in the JEE-Mains exam. I always had a passion for computer science and had to persue my career in Computer Science Engineering.I was some marks short for Government Colleges but I needed a good private college now and I got to know about Chitkara University.
The college is alright. Myself being a computer science student, I get various opportunities to learn new courses and take part in competition like hackathons. I even won some!. A good effort is given on research and students as well as teachers are motivated to take part in research projects.
A lot of companies come to visit the college for placements. Most of them provide internship offers in 6th or 7th Semester. Some provide stipend, and some don't. Some students opt for going for internships which is good, some don't. Students persue internship of their own also before placements to gain industry experience.
Placements is Chitkara University has always been known for. You can find lots of geeks here eager to get jobs for their skills. A lot of companies visit the campus and there is almost cent percent placement records. The average package ranges between 4.5 to 7 LPA. In today's date, it's the skills you have that earn you your package.
There are various societies in the college, both technical and non-technical, like C2S2, Epic Youth Club BitsNBytes, IEEE, ACM etc,. All these organise events to enjoy in and after college hours. A college fest named Explore takes place every year. Rest there are events all year round.Cultural art fest for plays and more named Rangrezz is held every year and is quite famous as lot of contestants from many colleges attend it every year.
Fee structure is feasible as much as I think. We have 75k as Academic fees and if you opt for a hostel, then additional fee of 43k is levied, every semester. Bus fee is charged according to the routes. I think the fee is affordable comparing other private colleges who demand a fortune.
Scholarship program is currently not there in the college. There are a LOT of foreign exchange programs for students to go abroad and study. The college has a lot of foreign countries tie-ups.
The campus life is good and joyous overall. You can have a good hangout with friends. Faculties are also good natured. One thing is that you would have to follow the dress code of college. There is uniform, where we have 2 days formals and 3 days t-shirts of college and jeans. You have to bear with discipline here, it is mandatory here. Gender ratio is almost like schools. Little more boys but girls strength is also good. There are students from various states and countries here. Major crowd is from Punjab, Haryana , Himachal Pradesh region. There are lot of labs some you won't have imagined. There's an excellent and renowned Chitkara Incubator for budding entrepreneurs named Explore Hub. It's really awesome place to work. Basketball, Cricket, Tennis, Volleyball courts are here and gym is really impressive. I am a regular gymmer. Auditorium is also huge and houses lot of events.
The hostel infrastructure is good overall and you won't have a problem overall in living here. The mess food is of Punjabi descent. I think the food is fine and I am fine eating food at mess with no issues. Wardens are friendly not that strict. Rest you can have a good time here.Ome thing good is that it's a ragging free campus and you don't need to worry about that.
The college has an alumni network called CAN, known as Chitkara Alumni Network. There is established online platform to manage alumni. There are regular meetups and almuni reunions that are held in college and outside college.
We have a system of lot of exams that is hectic sometimes. We have 3 Sessional Test, of which 2 best of 3 are considered. If you perform well in first two sessionals, you can skip the third sessional for the respective subject. All these are of 40 marks. Then comes the End-Term of 60 marks for full syllabus which is mandatory for all the pass the semester. In between there are 3 lab evaluations, for 20 marks. One Internal of 40 marks and one external practical for 60 marks. Average of all give your lab score. It gets quite hectic with all there regular tests honestly.
The admission process is through score in JEE-Mains Exam. There is a cutoff set every year for the candidates to get an admission into the desired stream. Also Board Exam marks of minimum 60-65% is also needed. The admission forms are released and available every year after the mains exam is over. You can find the procurement centre address on the official college website, i.e www.chitkara.edu.in. Also you can download the form from the website and send it after filling it out. Counselling dates would be sent after successful submission.
The overall faculty is a mixture of young and mid age experienced teachers. Some are quite new and some have been here for some time now. In college you have to learn the basic idea that faculty is for guidance, at the end it's your efforts and skills you learned yourself that would come into play. In the first year we have general subjects like Science subjects and Maths, with Engineering diagrams etc. In second year, the core subjects start for the respective fields. in CS we have Coding languages, Computer Networking, Operating System etc. Before you go to 3rd Year, students are divided into specialized streams like UCA( Coding Academy), Java-Oracle Academy, Data Science academy etc. Then comes training and placements!.
On average, a student gets a 4L+ package. All I can say is that the average package does not matter I can assure you that. If you are determined for your goal in life no one can stop you from doing that. Lpu will give you everything you will need to do that. Around 95% of students get placed here with more than 70+ students above 20Lpa out of 4000. If you have a good cgpa, you'll surely get placed above 9Lpa. I have two plans in mind: a) If I don't get a handsome salary then ill go for MBA. b) If I get a good package I would opt for the job then.
From the sixth semester, students are eligible for placements. nearly for placement, one should have a minimum of 6 CGPA. Placements in LPU are much better than any other private college. nearly 80% of students get placed here. but they charge some fees for placement preparation classes other than fees. (extra charge). But if you take that placement preparation classes nearly you will get the place.
While discussing students placements first of all if students want to attend drives they need to pay a placements fee of 10000/- it varies from departments and placements would start at 3-2 if you don’t want to attend placements drives at 3-2 we have the option for skip then we need pay fee at. 4-1. While going with companies every MNC company visited LPU if you selected a company you're not eligible for other drives. The height package is 48.5L per annum. Avg package is 3.4L per annum90% of students would place I am placed in innolabz ventures with 3.6L package.
Most of the students start getting placements from the 6th 7th semester and students above 6.5 cgpa are eligible to sit in the placement drive. Most of the companies that visit our college are amazon, google, Microsoft Wipro tata cognizant and Infosys. In the year 2020 highest package which gone is 42 lakhs from amazon and the avg package is 5.5 lakh for BTech cse. percentage of students getting placed is nearly about 70 to 80% and my plans are to grab a good packge from this college and work in the top MNCs and to fulfill my dreams and my family dreams.
From the 3rd semester all the Student capable and eligible for the placement. There are many companies like cognizant, Bosch, HCL, Capgemini, 3 to 8 lakh offers. The highest package is 42 lakh provided by Microsoft company for data structures and algorithms. See average student getting placed. Looking for the job if not getting placement from college
Campus placement is well more than 650+ companies visit blpu every year for placement it includes - Amazon, Capgemini, tcs, adobe, Microsoft, byjus, extra marks, etc, but it is upon you if you clear the interview then its great success otherwise there are many more companies to look upon, today only I got to know that 11 students of lpu were placed in Amazon this year which is a huge achievement and you will have to work hard, improve your skills, take part in different activities and many more to enhance your skills and more details regarding placement you can get from lpu site.
Student are eligible to sit in placements from 3rd year and should have 5cgpa or more to sit in placement and need to pay10k for placement class registration and approx 1000+ companies will visit the campus and takes max students who fulfill the criteria and the average package is about 4L and in my friend circle the max salary is 8L CTC and the least is 3L CTC and mostly all students will get places who are having more than 6cgpa
3rd-year 2nd Semester students are Eligible to take Placement to do the job. If you want to go for an Internship It's Starts From 3rd year 1st Semester, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, etc and Also You can Apply For Outgoing Campus Placement also. 80 percent of students get the Placement and my plans to Get to Good MBA Institute after my Graduation
The placement of computer science and MBA in LPU is quite good w.r.t. To other branches. I think when the students are in the 7th semester, they can apply for a full-time internship in any company. The company visited in LPU is Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, etc. I want to become a web developer in a start-up company.
