AN ENJOYABLE COLLEGE

    REMARKS

The best college in city center to be a part of. The fests and the campus is always enjoyable. The buildings are a bit old but will definitely love the feel of the campus. The college management is very understanding to the students needs and comforts.

  • ENTRANCE PREVIEW

GATE is the entrance exam taken to get into this college. Also there was a stifund of Rs 8000 hence i choose this college. I also had choices of manufacturing and thermal but loved design. Machine Design is the most widely chosen course to be taking up in Mtech. My score is 2050 in my GATE and hence made the decision to join this college.

  • FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES

The fee structure is high. There is a schlorship program for poor students and Vokkaligas(community) and the accomodation is also costly. Fee = Rs 74000 per year which is high for M.tech when compared to other colleges. Stifund is given if the entrance exam taken is GATE which pretty much makes up for the high fee but no money for the people going through PGCET.

    PLACEMENT WING

The placements happened in the last semesters for our seniors in M.tech and we were invited to sofware companies like wipro. The package offered to them was 4.5 lakh per annum. There was also L&T Ltd with a package of 5.5 lakh per anum. Placements are really good in this college.

    HOSTEL FACILITIES

The facilities in the hostels are average with routine scheduled food. We preferrend eating out at hotels rather than in college mess. There are geysers for bathing. There are tables for study. The are many shops around the hostel and also ATM and banks.

  • ALUMNI

Our seniors meet us once in a while and are still in contact with us. The management has our contact details and calls our seniors for functions. And on any given sundays the college is open for ex students to visit the campus.

    CAMPUS LIFE

The ratio of girls and boys in the college is almost 1 with participation in group discussions and debates happening during talent' s day by both the genders equally. The campus is always thriving with students throughout the year. For workshops and industrial visit we were taken once a year in college bus to various factories around the college. Many students from different religion used to come here with all diversity equally respected. The library is huge with many number of books for all courses. Sports day was once every year with running , high jump and short put being the major draw.

  • EXAM STRUCTURE

The exam is scheduled by the VTU who conduct it once every 6 months to pass on to the next semester which would usually have around 5 subjects. The marks for each paper is 125 with an additional 50 for internals which used to happen thrice every semester

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

The curriculum was very well structured with the lecturers being truly dedicated and well informed about their jobs. They talked to us as friends and we could connect very well with them. The curriculum has 4 sems with 5 subjects in each semester with a project in the 4th semester.

    INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES

I did my internship in BEML limited in the design department. Though money was offered the imparting of knowledge was immense. I was offered around Rs 5000. The referrel for the internship came through my friend and the course was done for a period of 3 months.

    COLLEGE EVENTS

We had a college fest called suraksha every year along with talent's day. Activities like bowling, slow riding on bike, singing, golf, table tennis, chess etc used to be accompanied by various outdoor activities like swimming competition which happened in clubs. There was no derth for sponsorship as the majority of cost was borne by the management. The fest was good with real good performances. There is a huge college ground where these happened.

  • LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS

My friends have taken scholorship which is given by the college for SC/ST's. This almost pays for the whole fees for Mtech. Many banks offers loan very easily for this course. The management is very co operative in these aspects.

Good college

Remarks -

College and faculty is good , infrastructure is good. Very decent college with good environment to study. The only negative remark is about college attendence. If it is low , it's very strict that u will be detained.

Placement -

Placements are very rare for masters , but for BE it's good. And college doesn't provide any internship, we need to find on our own. For mtech both the placements and internship are not good compared to other college.

I took IIIT-B internal examination for the admission. After I cleared the written test I was called for interview in Bangalore, Electronics City where I was suppose to present a topic of my own choice in front of a professor. I presented my topic and then professor asked me a few questions related to the topic. It was 45 mins interview. It went well and after a week I got a call that I was selected into the M.Tech program.

Placement -

100% placement is there. Although, during my course of study, this was not as such. But in the next subsequent years, placement process was improved. There are ample number of job opportunities for students because a number of well-established and startup companies are called for employment opportunities.

A great place to learn

Remarks -

Management is strict and responsible as it should be in academics and even hostel maintenance is good, M.tech students may find it a bit too strict, but it is good to get accustomed to regulated lifestyle. Sometimes management also should see the problems faced by the pupil as the lower levels of management may misuse this at times.
