Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

MBBS is not very easy course to be in, it is not even short course, and throughout the course we are not only made to learn how to treat patients but also on how to respect a patient. By learning the ethics to become a doctor, it very much help us to build character on how to govern our life in future. Our course has very practical approach 1st year - we have to learn about normal function and structure of human body. 2nd year - we learn abnormalities and diseases and their cause. 3rd year (part-1) - we learn to apply this knowledge along its legal and social impacts 3rd year (part-2) - we learn how to identify and manage such cases. During one year compulsory intership we apply all the knowledge under guidance. End of every year we are given final exams along with their practicals which are fairly difficult.

Campus Life

In my medical college social aspects are often by a strong sense of community among students due to the demanding nature of the curriculum. Students often form study groups and support systems to help each other navigate the rigorous coursework and exams. here may be social events organized by student associations or the college itself to foster camaraderie among students. Club Involvement: In my Medical college often have a variety of clubs and organizations catering to different interests such as photography club, music club, chess club. Medical colleges typically have state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the learning and research needs of students and faculty. This includes well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, libraries with access to medical literature and research journals, simulation centers for hands-on training, and clinical facilities for practical training. My medical college also have student lounges, cafeterias, recreational facilities

All the departments have sufficient amount of faculties any medical college could have, the faculties to students ratio is 1.06 and we also have PG studying students for learning during UG for each batch. All the faculties are either post graduate or super speciality, except for tutors the are UG(MBBS). They all create a good learning environment with their positive mindset and their experience in the field. We are also assigned mentors for the duration of course to help us go through the college. The faculty is very friendly and approachable we can approach them during and after lectures even we are encouraged to contact them after college hours. Faculty even make WhatsApp groups for us to approach them and for them to inform us about the activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspect that influenced me is the externals and clinicals that made by decision to take this course because more than theory is the postings and clinicals which are neccessary to become a good doctor and also helps you to gain confidence. This is not just a curriculum but is a priority academics that prepares a student to save ones life which is far more important than just learning or reading. And yes it prepares us very well through clinicals and postings in addition to theory lectures or exams. As per my view, improvements in posting durations is very important than theory durations due to the priority. And yes teaching methods may get improve if some more fresh cadavers may get introduced in college every year. Exam are held in two phases, 3 terminals and 1 final. 3 terminals are held whole year with 3 to 4 months gap and finals at the end of the semester which is the final exam. Terminals exams are easy and quick whereas finals are tough and time consuming.
