Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

First of all the course is very useful and helpful especially in the last year of graduation. The course comprises of both Indian political political thinkers and western political thinkers and talks about the very famous theory given by them in detail. Overall, the course makes us prepared for the challenges in life by providing deep insight of how society works.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no idea about scholarship and job roles as we were not provided with any such opportunity. The examination fees was 650. The semester fees was around 7,000 each semester (6 semester in 3 year course) The complete cost of my education was around 42,000 . The fees is comparatively very less in government colleges .

Campus Life

4

There were various societies in my college like pratibimb ( the political science society), aghaaz( theatre society) eco club, commerce club, sports society of professional cricketers, ncc. NCC was very active and it focused on selecting the students on the basis of their potential. I was very active in pratibimb society and actively participated in the extempore, dance, music, art and craft activities. The library offers a variety of books, the r.o facility and the easy process of issuing it.

Admission

The admission was done on the basis of merit. My 12th standard's best 4 was calculated and thereafter, when my marks matched with the cut-off, the Dean and convener of the college approved and if was ultimately accepted by the principal after which I secured admission to this college.

Faculty

3.5

Some of the professors are really good and have good teaching skills .They explain the topics by connecting it with practical life ,and go in depth of every concept. But unfortunately, these types of professors are very few. Most of the professors don't show up in class and have very low key approach towards teaching

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
