MLNC, New Delhi
Motilal Nehru College may not be a perfect college but it certainly isn't a bad college either.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
The annual fees for B.A. (Honours) Economics is around rupees five thousand and five hundred. If you're not from Delhi then it might get a little costly for you to live around the college but more economic locations are also available for accommodations that are just a little far away from the college.
The placements are not that good, speaking on relative terms when being compared to the likes of Shri Ram College of Commerce and Hindu College.
It was the usual admission process that takes place across all the colleges in Delhi University. I got admission during the Vacant Phase 2 in 2016. The faculty was super helpful throughout the admission process and they took all my queries about the college.
The alumni network of the college is very vast since it's been over 50 years since the college commenced its journey.
The faculty at Motilal Nehru College is great. Since day one, they have been nothing but helpful. The teachers are really patient when it comes to taking queries of the students, sometimes even outside the curriculum. I've had one of the best learning experiences as a student at MLNC.
Motilal Nehru College has over 20 cultural and academic societies. Joining these societies is what makes campus live more fun. The cultural societies of our college are. The gender ratio in the college is not even but not highly deviated either. Cultural Diversity is one of the Highlights of studying at Motilal Nehru College.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
I think that the course curriculum is a little old and it needs to be shaken up a little bit as we only learn about the theoretical approaches throughout the entire course and there really isn't much focus on the practical application of Economics. As far as the exam pattern is concerned I prefer the former exam pattern which was of annual examinations over the current one which is based on the semester system and grades.
There are more than 20 cultural and academic societies that offer a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities in the college and a lot of festivities take place throughout the year. There's also our annual college fest that goes by the name Phoenix.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
No, I didn't opt for any education loan or a scholarship and I also don't know much about the procedures to apply for a scholarship at the college.
