The college is a fun time in each individual’s life. SACCM provides that outlet to explore oneself during the young years of life. The college definitely gives ample opportunities to the students to explore their hidden talents. Wish it could work upon a little in terms of providing job oriented education as well.
Mine was an annual system of grading unlike the present one which is the semester system. In my opinion, the annual system was better since the course curriculum was elaborative and extensive so it required ample time to complete it thoroughly. In semester system, all though the syllabus is less as compared to the annual system, it does not provide enough time to the students to learn everything in detail as focus is on completing the course in the stipulated time frame. In my college, the exams were held thrice a year. First, we used to have exams in October of 80 marks each which used to cover 50-60% of the course curriculum. The next exams were held in the month of December which also comprised of 80 marks each and covered 75-80% of the syllabus. The final exams were held in the month of April which were conducted by the Punjab University, Chandigarh. These theory exams comprised of 80 marks each , exams being evaluated by the teachers of Punjab university and there was an internal of 20 marks per subject given by the college students. The 20 marks internal criteria was divided as follows : 2 marks for attendance 3 marks for October exams 5 marks for December exams 10 marks for project These marks were given on proportionate basis In the present semester system, the internal criteria remains the same , however the mid semester exams are held of 30 marks each in the month of September and December and final exams are held in the month of May of 80 marks each conducted by the Punjab University, Chandigarh.
No, the only demerit of studying in such a brilliant college is that it does not hold any placement drives.None of the companies used to visit college for the campus placements. The least the college authorities could do was to tie up with another college for providing placements to the students but since the placements were not held in the college campus, very few got selected.
The college has a lot of fun events starting from freshers to welcome the new students , then comes the cultural fest , all the Indian festivals are also celebrated in the college campus - be it rangoli making competition on Diwali or kite flying on lohri. The special attraction is the marketing fest - METTLE which is specially organised to channelise the skills of the marketing and finance students. Apart from this , teh college also conducts various debates, art, theatre and other competitions through which students get a chance to learn exhibit their hidden talents and also represent the college on various platforms.
The fee structure is quite feasible and is in accordance with the fees norms set up by the Punjab university, Chandigarh. The college also provides scholarships to meritorious students, underprivileged and financially weaker students. It also provides fee concessions for single girl child education.
The college provides scholarships to the meritorious students. It also provides fee concessions to the financially weaker students and supports education of the underprivileged. It also provides concessional education for Single Girl Child.
The college has a plethora of extra curricular activities. The college has a separate activity hall where students could play sports such as badminton, table tennis , chess etc. Students also used to play their favourite musical instruments here. The students with a flair of acting skills used to show their talent in the auditorium.
You have to apply for admission through the admission form available in the prospectus which you can collect from the college premises on submission of a requisite fee. After filling the form and submitting the required documents, a merit list is prepared by the college on the basis of which candidates are called for final interview for admission in the college. The interview is simple and if cleared , you are asked to deposit the admission fees and the first semester fees on the same day for getting your seat assured in the college. This was the process at my time. Now I think admission forms are available online as well on the college website.
The college had an excellent faculty having teaching staff of both young and the experienced generations. All the teachers were highly qualified and had an amazing way of imparting quality education making classes more interactive.
Course has much opportunity to explore. It is research based field.so that's why i choose this course. Because i am very interested in it. My interest toward chemistry is much more so that's why i opted this course. This field has broad scope in future.
If i literally tells u about placements. Then placements are average. You cannot say that the placements very good. They are lil bit less.
It's a government university and it was the only government institute where I could get B. Tech(CSE) with 69 JEE score. I wished to pursue Computer Sciences only. I had options of some private institutes but I opted for the government one.
There is no criteria for admission, If you are a graduate you can apply for masters course and you get selected. Same is the case with bachelors degree. If you want to enroll for bachelors degree the only criteria is you must have scored above 60 percent in 12th standard in physics, chemistry and Mathematics.
Admission in this college is quite simple. Students need to have scored more than 50% in 10+2 examination and they can apply for this college by filling the form online. During online counselling the seats are allotted.
The placement is provided in campus. The college tries its best to make the students capable enough that they can become great doctors in future. Students can even attend the internships provided from college.
Patiala college of Education is a private college and it only provides students only two courses. So therefore, admission is completely based on the marks scored in 10+2 examination or equivalent examination.
Private colleges provides internships and placements too. So therefore, students of this college get this opportunity. Stipends varies from internships to internships. Overall experience is really great of the ex students.
Studies and placements can be better. Transport facilities is only available during day which creates lots of issues for students. We have to come timely in order to catch the bus otherwise its too difficult to came back hostel.
There are both positive and negative remarks about my college which all i have mentioned above. According to me negatives are college management donot provide interships and jobs opportunities and the study system is not so good
College is best and the location of the college is also good. But the teachers and the staff should be more creative to run a college. I can give 6 rating out of 10 to the college. It can be better if given more attentiveness
The bad thing about my college is that the college is situated to far from tha main place.sp transport ficilty is not good other wise the college is good.
