SECOND ONLY TO TIER 1 INSTITUTES
It has a very good semester abroad programme. It has ties with top universities like Carnegie Mellon university, Massachusetts, Stanford university etc. It provides good exposure to the students. It has very good infrastructure with well equipped labs and library.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
Expensive. For b.tech, they charge 2.5 to 3.5 lakhs per annum as academic fees, which is expensive. On top of that there is exam fees, placement fees etc. which need to be paid from time to time. On a whole, it is pretty expensive.
Placement opportunities are good. Mostly mass recruiters recruit students. Every computer science, it and software department student get placed by the mid of 4th year. Internships are not provided by the college. But recently a college based organisation is trying to get internships to the students but they can provide internship only to a handful of students given that our college has a huge strength.
I appeared for the entrance examination of my college. I was given a date for counseling based on my rank. I was allotted my course and department based on my rank in the entrance exam and also my 10th and 12th marks were checked.
I've opted for hostel. The infrastructure is good enough but the hostel fees is high. The mess food is good as they provide a lot of range. Hostel rooms are good, with or without attached washroom. Laundry service is also included and we get cool drinking water and warm water for bathing.
Definitely. We do not have any ragging in the hostel. The seniors are cooperative and helpful. They also help us select better faculty for our courses. Some senior students also conduct seminar on different topics for providing an exposure to the juniors.
We do have many highly qualified facilities for our college. Some faculties though lack knowledge and some senior faculties are egoistic. We do get to select faculties of our own choice. This helps us get trained by the better faculty.
There are different clubs pertaining to different departments. They provide a good exposure to students. Sports grounds are there. Labs are also well equipped. Overall, our college is good enough for Extra curricular activities.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The course curriculum is actually good and they grill us in such a way that we can appear for the placement exams without fear. Exam structure: We have three cycle tests, one surprise test/Viva and one assignment per subject. These account to our internal marks (50 marks). The external exam is conducted out of 100, but is converted into 50. The total of internal and external marks give the final marks. Also, doing industrial training, projects and online courses are necessary for getting credits.
We have two tests. One of them is cultural called 'milan'. The other is called 'aaruush' and is a national level techno management fest. Both these events are really grand and attract a lot of people. There are many other clubs which conduct different events including Hackathon, MUNs etc.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
I have not availed any scholarship. But state toppers, district toppers in class 12th board exams and also those who have secured excellent rank in the entrance exam are entitled to scholarship. Poor students are also given scholarships based on their needs.
