Likes

I liked campus, library facilities, hostel facilities, campus region, teachers guidance.
I liked playing facilities, the availability of good sports complex and ground.
I liked the exposure and zonal quizes participation.

Dislikes

We used to get a little time for our preparation after 9 to 5 classes .
There are some restriction like timing of hostels that are 7 pm during winter , and 8 pm during summer.

Course Curriculum Overview

Syllabus is so vast that we continuously have to give exams . There are approximately 10 courses average in each semester We have to give practicals , mid terms and finals of each course, which is a bit hectic task.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 240000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

You will get scholarship of semester 9000 rs if you are in top 10 percent ogpa in the batch. Students of sc /st are provided with books of agriculture and scholarship. Library facilities are good . Campus is good with good hostel facilities. But you need to study hard because one semester have about 10 courses average to study

Campus Life

Campus is too good and nature plays an important role . Annual fest like agrifest held every year and other festivals . Sports meet held every year inter College. We take part in North zone games . Agroclub is also there in university.

Hostel Facilities

We are two students residing in one room. We are provided with 2 beds 2 table chair , 2 almirahs in one room . Mess is cooperative that is functioned by students and students decide menu. Various rooms can be rented about range of 3000 per person in 2 person accomodation And 7000 for pg accommodation for 1 person .

Hostel Fee: INR 18000 per year

Admission

I got selected to yashwant Singh Parmar university nauni but I left that university because of narrower scope of horticulture and forestry than agriculture. Agriculture open up ways for you to give maximum government exams.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is good. They helped a lot for competitive exams . They guide you and provide guidance from other recently passed out students who cleared that exams. Students of this university had cleared many exams like has , ifos.

Night Life

Gym is open from 6 am to 8 pm and is open for both genders. Library timings are from 9am to 9 pm and is also open durings Sundays. Girls who reside in hostels are not allowed to go out after 7 pm during winter and 8pm during summer . Hangout places in college are pecan square, natural farming department that is considered to be switzerland in university and breathtaking view.

Honour student if shoolini university

Likes

The campus provide a good environment for the students
The campus is well equiped with wifi and proper facilities
No ragging is allowed in the campus which in nice

Dislikes

Lot of courses didn't get time to try new things

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students ke eligible for placements The companies visited was one bayer and other companies but no offers were made 20 to 30% students can get proper placements as for others few opted for higher studies.

My Experience at Shoolini University

Likes

The campus environment is clean and vibrant.
The classrooms are spacious and well equipped with smart classes.
University offers well stocked library with excellent wifi connectivity.

Dislikes

Course load is too much, with a lot of theory and practical classes per semester.
More flexibility should be providing in elective courses
More practical knowledge should be provided in the field.

Placement Experience:

Placement starts from 8th semester. Various agriculture related companies like Bayer, ITC, etc comes with offers. Highest package is 3-4 lakhs. Pursuing higher studies and build a career in agriculture sector.

Life in Dr. YSP University Solan

Likes

There is large caffetetia, gymnasium and large area to roam around in campus.
There are all kinds of shops (stationery, food shops, cafes etc.) inside the college.
The campus management arranges various functions and events time to time

Dislikes

There is lot of work pressure on students.
The fee is I guess too much and should be reduced.
Some of seniors are arrogent and don't co-operate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.

Studies with the charm of nature

Likes

The college campus is a pretty nice place to explore and it's beauty will make sure to bring you close to nature
Noone can get bored by the interesting assignments you get during your course

Dislikes

Many of the infrastructure and basic requirements are lacking
There can be more educational tours for students
More attention needs to be paid towards the career guidance

Course Curriculum Overview:

Everyone know that agriculture is of great importance and it's worth is increasing on a daily basis and opting for this course helps to learn various scientific methods to allow in the improvement of the traditional farming methods. With the help of agriculture extension.. these technologies are provided and being taught to different farmers and stakeholders. This course also allows us to get the practical knowledge by different field works.

Tit bits about the agriculture university

Likes

The faculty in interactive and social. They provide help when asked nicely.
The campus is huge and really beautiful. It has a lot of greenery and fresh air.
Electric cabs are provided to travel from one department to another

Dislikes

The washrooms of the university need a lot of improvent, sometimes water isnt available sometimes the washrooms are left dirty for days.
There are not many events organised in the university and sometimes it feels like all we do is study and there's no fun in that.
For some events the limitations of day scholars are not taken into conaideration...mostly hostellers get all the fun. It makes us day scholars feel excluded.

The other colleges I've applied for offer courses whose jobs can be later substituted with AI but if we talk about agriculture.. I don't think that there is a scope for AI to work in field and take over the manual work. I applied for icar reservation through CUET examination through which I had a confirmed admission in GADVASU Ludhiana but, i preferred CSKHPKV, Palampur because it is loacted in my hometown and it has the course i was willing to take.
