MNIT, Jaipur
REMARKS
As a whole, I would say that, these four years were definitely one of my most unforgettable and memorable years in my life. Thanks to my college, for making it the most memorable. There is nothing negative that I would say about my college and this college will always be my second home and a place that has given me some friendships that will last a lifetime.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
It's very much feasible. The tuition fee is Rs1.25 lakhs per annum, so Rs 62500 every semester. We have to pay the institute Rs17,300 every semester for other facilities viz library, LAN, etc . The hostel fee is Rs 32000 per semester which includes the room charges, mess charges, light and water charges too.
PLACEMENT WING
The placements are pretty good. Everyone gets placed at some company by the end of the fourth year. The college provides good internship opportunities for the computer science and electronics branches but provides very few opportunities for the core branches.
ADMISSION
I wrote SAT i.e. the Scholastic Aptitude Test. My SAT score was 2050. So based on my SAT score, the branch I wanted to take and preference of colleges, I got the admission in my college. MNIT was my third preference. My first and second preferences were NIT Trichy and NIT Warangal. The score that I had with me wasn't enough for the branch I wanted, hence I ended up in MNIT Jaipur.
HOSTEL FACILITIES
Yes, I have opted for the hostel. The hostel facilities are pretty decent, considering the fact that it is a Government institution. The infrastructure is very good, the hostels are built according to the present day needs and we have a canteen and a TV room in the hostel which serve as good recreation facilities for the students.
ALUMNI
Yes, the Alumni network in our college is pretty good. We have a team that is in constant touch with the Alumni, and the team ALCOM. That team contacts the Alumni for various internship and job opportunities for the students.
FACULTY
They're not excellent and at the same time, they aren't horrible. At the college level, I would recommend, self - study and that's the only thing that'll be able to you. In any college, the faculty can only guide you, but it's on you, on how much effort you put in. But yes, some faculty are really good and they're ready to do anything for the students.
CAMPUS LIFE
There are many extracurricular activities that are enough to deviate you from your studies. The sports activities and facilities are really good and we are lucky to have a sports complex and team that support the students to take part in various inter NIT competitions.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The course curriculum of Chemical engineering is good. They follow the standard textbooks here. And according to me, the subjects chosen are in correlation with real world and the chemical industries. We have two exams every semester, a mid term examination that is for 30 marks and an end term examination for 50 marks. Internal assessments account to 20 marks and the grading is done on the basis of 100 marks.
COLLEGE EVENTS
There are many events that take place in the college. We have three main fests every year. They are: 1) Blitzschlag - The annual Cultural fest. It's generally a 3 day fest. 2) Sphinx - The Annual Technical fest. It's generally a 3 day fest . 3) MST - The Annual Sports Fest. MST stands for Malaviya Sports Tournament. It's generally a 3 day fest.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
There are different scholarship and loan facilities as recommended by the Ministry of Human Resources (MHRD). These scholarship and loan programmes help the students of economically backward sections of the society to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
