    REMARKS

College faculty and management are very helpful in nature.

  • FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES

Fees are very affordable as expected from a government college. BSc. 1 st year fees 10k-12k(annual). But, recently it has increased up to 13k (annual). Still quite affordable. BSc. Courses generally have more fees as compared to other courses. Like BA or B.Com courses have fees around 9k in our college.

    PLACEMENT WING

The placement cell of our college is very active from organizing a range of very helpful seminars to inviting various companies. Companies like KPMG, Deloitte, Byju, Oyo and many more. Commerce and arts background ground students are high in demand.

  • ADMISSION

Most of the ug admissions are solely based on the 12th percentage. Several Cut off list comes out till seats remained vacant. BSc. Courses have seats around 30- 90 depending upon courses. During admissions, Best 3 subject percentage is considered. For example, for admission to BSc. Botany, the aggregate of Physics, chemistry, and biology will be considered.

  • ALUMNI

Very few alumni meet-up or network is there. But the senior-junior relationship is very cordial. As our college has Anti-ragging policy, which makes it a very safe and supportive environment for freshers.

    FACULTY

The faculty is very knowledgeable and supportive. Teachers are highly qualified. All the year around various workshops are organized by professors of various departments. Especially, professors of my course are very caring and supportive. Apart from lectures, they always try to provide comprehensive notes and study materials, which greatly help during the semester and entrance exams.

    CAMPUS LIFE

Gargi has listed many times as one of the best Women's colleges of Delhi University. As a science student, Labs are an integral part of our courses. Gargi College is one of the 2 colleges and the only women's college of Delhi University to have BIF( Bioinformatics infrastructure facility) funded by DBT. Our college also provides immense opportunities to its students to showcase their talents through various societies like.. debate, quiz dramatics, dance, street-play, etc. Many inter and intra college competitions are also organized throughout the year. Each Department has also their individual societies. Like Quasar - physics society, Taru- Botanical society, GERMS- microbiology society and many more.

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

As all science courses demand High input from its students. Our 1 st lecture starts at 8:40 am. Usually, a single lecture is of 1 hr duration and Labs lasts 4 hrs per subject. The course is of CBCS type( choice based credit system) and the syllabus is the same as per Delhi University. I genuinely feel, it is designed in such a way to impart students both theory and practical knowledge. During your 3yr of graduation, you can also undertake any project or research work of your interest under your professor's guidance.

    COLLEGE EVENTS

Annual NSS Diwali fest 'Zistatva': Many NGO's and other colleges 'Enactus' societies put up their stalls. Every year various competitions are also organized such as Rap battle, Talent hunt, Ramp walk and many more. All DU students are allowed. Annual college fest 'Reverie': It's a 3-day extravagant festival. Each day, we have some highlighted celebrity performances. This fest is a huge potboiler of food, dance, and music.

  • LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS

There are some scholarship programs for financially weaker students and sports quota students. There is also a Gargi Pathfinder award given to students with the best research paper. I don't have much deeper knowledge, as I have not availed of any scholarship.

It's the 8th ranked in Delhi University and the only pure science college in the University .

Remarks -

The overall college for me has been a place where I learnt a lot from teachers, Seniors and most importantly from my classmates. As the cutoff for all courses are all above 90% so in general the college crowd is of same level and thus a highly competitive environment is faced by us . The college is developing more on it's infrastructure but other than this the labs are well equipped for us to have exposure to maximum practical knowledge of course related matters. Being a biomedical science student my college provides me with immense opportunities either it be research related projects or lab visits . For me, the college has helped in thinking out of the box in academics and several societie...

ANDC take admission based on cut off percentage. My course had a cut off of 96 % and I was able to get admission based on my 12 th marks. The reason for choosing biomedical science was because of the varied syllabus of this course , and most importantly it deals with subject like pharmacology, toxicology, pathology, biophysics and many more that are interesting in themselves . This course seems to me a bit different from normal biology course of botany , zoology because it gave exposure more wi...

A negative remark is that the canteen is not so good. Menu of food is too small. And during Saturdays, canteen is not open as most of courses have off on Saturday. There is a good remark too, college has a big sports ground.

College management is good according to me. Only some things which must be maintained are the sports ground, labs, and mainly the water points. Only one water point of the college give cold water and others are not.

I think there is Need to provide hostel facilities to students and also quarter facilities to academic professors. For conference Hall, they used class rooms as there is no auditorium in College. So need to build an Auditorium.

Wonderful life experience that can't be forgotten.

Remarks -

Good Remark: The college environment made it possible for me to have great friends and be the person who I have become. The teachers and facilities of well-equipped labs, guest lectures, events, library, etc. made it possible for us to have a great campus life. Bad Remark: The college management needs to update the library norms that they have (which made it difficult for us to have books for the weekend to study) and also need to provide students with better placement opportunities from the same field as the specializations.
