Course Curriculum Overview

5

When i first looked at the English Honours syllabus, i'll admit i thought it would just be a bunch of memorizing old poems and dusty plays. Instead, it completely changed how i think. While we study the classics, i love how we dive into modern world literature, culture, and sharp critical theory. It is really testing my skills both in writing and research. Mandatory internship during semester breaks helps you refine your skills further. Furthermore, the international collaborations help me to step out of my comfort zone and see different perspectives. It makes everything i learn very practical and real.

Internships Opportunities

5

For me, the internship program is where things actually get real. The university doesn't just leave us to figure it out on our own; they really push us to grab meaningful internships during semester breaks. Thanks to the OCS and International Collab Office, my friends and i have lined up diverse roles from publishing houses and media companies to NGOs and corporate communication teams. These jobs are showing me how to actually use my analysis and writing skills in the real world, helping me build a resume i'm proud of before i even graduate.

Placement Experience

5

Thinking about life after graduation used to completely stress me out, but the office of Career Services here really takes the pressure off. They work right alongside us from the 1st year to fix up our resumes, practice interviews, and figure out what we actually want to do. Whether you want to jump straight into corporate communications, digital media, creative writing, or head off to a great international university for your master's, the support here gives you a massive head start. Seeing my seniors land great roles makes me feel so much better about my own future.

Fees and Financial Aid

Let's be honest, paying for a private university is a huge decision, but JGU actually makes it manageable. I found out that their Merit cum Means scholarship are a lifesaver. They cover a huge part of your tuition based on family income, board marks, JSAT scores, and an interview. They usually open up applications around April and give them out in july.

Campus Life

5

Living on campus is an absolutte roller coaster, and it feels like its own mini city. There's this constant energy everywhere, whether you're caught up in dramatic society debates, stumbling into impromptu music jam sessions, or running around preparing for sports fests. You're always surrounded by passionate people from all over the country. It's the kind of place that totally forces you out of your comfort zone in the bestway possible, helping you grow up, stand on your own feet, and make the kind of memories that define your whole college experience.

Admission

The entire procedure was really simple and straighforword. In order to gain admission into the English Honours course, all that i had to do was ensure that i had scored well enough on my 12th boards. Then i had to fill out an online application and appear for a computerised exam called JSAT. Since the selection procedure considers all parameters, there was an interview with the faculty members who checked my fit for the programme. This interview, although a little intimidating, opened my eyes regarding JGU's dedication to recruiting well rounded candidates.

Faculty

5

Undoubtedly, the best thing about my college is our professors. They have outstanding teachers and writers who genuinely care about teaching. They are available whenever i have some questions to ask and challenge me to think independently. In addition, they do not limit themselves to the class, as they have mentored me in my own research and taught me how to write an essay and even helped me figure out what i will do after graduation.

Night Life

5

To be honest, the campus in the evening is what i most enjoy about the entire day, because once class is over, everything changes, and the place becomes very relaxing. My friends and i always hang out at the late night food joints, grabbing a bite and just sitting around talking about anything and everything for hours. Whether we're walking down the paths, chilling in the courtyard, or stressing over exams together in a study room, or going to Naveen Jindal Sports Academy, it always feels completely safe and like our own little world.

Placement Experience:

I feel so relieved my seniors because our job placements had so much variety. I love that JSPC doesn't just box us into one specific career path. I saw huge consulting firms like PwC UK and BCG hiring right next to tech names like Zomato, OneBanc, and Kanerika. I also noticed great roles at places like Bal Raksha Bharat and Mom's Belief for anyone wanting to do advocacy, psychology, or therapy. I honestly feel like my career can go anywhere now.

Placement Experience:

At JGU, the Office of Career Services puts a lot of effort into preparing us for the competitive industry in digital media, podcasts, investigative reporting, multimedia storytelling, and data journalism. We have an exceptional alumni network with students who have graduated from our college and become political reports at The Hindu or media consultants for the UAE-India council, or even bagged the role of anchors at NewX and ET TV. The intense training that we get makes us ready for the industry. The institution helps us a great deal in shaping our resumes.
