Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is relevant & Bharathiar Univ based. Good for fundamentals, less industry-focused. Exams: 2 internals + semester, moderate difficulty. Needs more practicals, projects & skill courses. Prepares well for PG, but add certifications for jobs.

Internships Opportunities

VLBJCAS has limited campus internships. Most students do external internships. Companies: TCS, Wipro, Infosys offer IT/BPO roles, stipend ₹5k-15k. Projects: web dev, data entry, marketing. Outcome: industry exposure & placement prep.

Placements start from 5th/6th semester. Companies: TCS, Wipro, Infosys visit. 70-90% get placed. Avg: ₹3-5 LPA, Highest: ~₹6 LPA. Profiles: IT, BPO, Finance. Plan: PG/MBA or job after degree............

Campus Life

Campus life is active with dept fests & cultural events. Library has good UG/PG books & journals. Classrooms have basic tech. Sports, clubs & extracurriculars available. Student groups help networking, though infrastructure needs upgrades.

Chose VLBJCAS for affordable fees, scholarships & Coimbatore location vs PSG/KG/Dr.NGP. Got admission here; others had higher cutoffs/fees. Admission: direct, 10+2/UG marks based. No entrance. Easy process, merit + docs.

Faculty

Faculty are approachable, supportive. Ratio ∼1:25. Exams: 2 internals + semester. Moderate difficulty, <10% fail. Bharathiar Univ syllabus is relevant. Teaching quality varies by dept. Strong for basics, add certifications for industry skills.

Night Life

VLBJCAS is a day college, no hostel. Campus closes by 5 PM. Library, cafeteria & gym shut early. Students hangout at Brookefields, RS Puram & Gandhipuram cafes. Coimbatore is generally safe. Nightlife is off-campus and shapes social bonding.

A comprehensive review of my college

Likes

the college also organizes technical events, workshops, seminar, cultural, festivals and placement training programs with helps students enhance their practical knowledge
the campus has a diverse student community with a healthy and inclusive atmosphere.
the aspects I liked the most were support faculty, disciplined campus environment.

Dislikes

placement opportunities may be stronger for certain branches and others
Wi-Fi connectivity can be inconsistent in some area in the campus
parking facilities may becomes crowded during peak hours

the exam staff also very good and the experience very for good and positive

the canteen was poor condition and waste of time to canteen

A good college with supporting faculties and positive environment

Likes

Friendly and supportive faculty numbers you guys students that could learning environment with a practical and theoretical knowledge
Regular cultural events seminar activities for skill development and affordable fee structure compared to other college

Likes

Opportunities to learn new skills and gain knowledge beyond textbooks. The professors were supportive and encourage to ask questions
Teachers guidance helped to become more confident in my ability. More extracurricular activities in our college

Dislikes

Limited practical exposure in some subject
Communication about schedule, event, in class timing are not clear
During busy hours the library and common areas often become overcrowded

Commerce cours has an entire building as we have five division in B.Com itself.
Seminars and industry people are called to guide us for placements and what all add ons do we need to learn to get a corporate job.
Our fests is too good as otherwise college gate closed at 5pm but during fests it last till 10 pm.

Dislikes

Dress code which is very wierd both for boys and girls.

Placement Experience:

P&G, Deloitte, KPMG, INTEL and many others have started taking interest in B.Com students as well. Placements though our of 400 it is still around like 100 odd students get placed from campus and with a salary of 30-40k around.
