Placement Experience

I am placed in MOLMI. And sincerely thank HIMT for the placement. The other companies who Recruits cadets from HIMT are Zodiac, MOLTA, Sanmar, Genco, Ozler ONE shipping etc . HIMT have good placement records of 100%, if you have no arrears then for sure will get placed

Fees and Financial Aid

The feedback structure of himt per year is 325000. When joining the college you should give extra 25000 as a caution deposit which is used for your laundary and other purposes. When you complete the course they will return your caution deposit. Also you have to pay 30,000 to IMU as your course fees per year

Campus Life

HIMT doesn't celebrate Festival of that much. But yes they celebrate as there is event committee who is coordinating everything. Also onboard a ship you can't celebrate Festival. And HIMT is a training institute which trains cadets for life onboard a ship

Hostel Facilities

Every Hostel and rooms are really good. It is each cadets duty to maintain their rooms and varandas near and tidy if not safety committee members will come for inspection and give appropriate punishment. Regarding the menu what they provide is good

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

I have applied for several colleges and I got selected in Amet, Tolani, and HIMT. I rejected other colleges because of the fees structure while himt has less fees structure also good placement records. I got into HIMT college via an interview

Faculty

Faculty wise himt is really good. They have well disciplined well educated good teachers. Every session will feel like a gem. Even faculties are providing placement training also they are providing their life experience

Night Life

For Night life HIMT have gym, library etc. they do have turf for footballers and cricketers. HINT follows strict rules and regulations so after 9:45 night muster on one is allowed to roam around the campus only watchkeepers are allowed outside

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.

Life in HIMT

I applied this course in three other colleges which are Tolani, Manet , coimbatore marine college. I live in coimbatore so i applied in CMC but after visiting the campus i didn't like the infrastructure and the placements record was not good enough. Tolani is a very good college one of the best college in india but the fees for BSC for three years was too high to afford by me so i couldn't join. HIMT is known for their discipline, safety priority and placements record. The fees was also comparatively less than other colleges and it is near to me compared to other colleges. I was selected in tolani, cmc, Manet but i chose HIMT . The selection process consist of a CBT test and online interview. The difficulty level is easy/moderate. We have to clear IMUCET in order to join this course ....Read More
