    When it comes to granting admissions, City is nearly selective towards its admission approach. The university has an acceptance rate of 11.26% where 1,855 students were admitted out of 16,470 applicants in the past year. A student’s past academic record with really good grades is considered while reviewing an applicant's application, making City a very competitive institution with a moderately low acceptance rate.

    Visa Process for International Students

    Applicants can start applying for visa three months prior to the classes. a 4 tier visa is required to study as a full-time student in the UK. Kindly note that this visa does not permit part-time education in the country. The following documents must be arranged for submission during the process:

    1. A copy of the valid passport
    2. Proof of financial support
    3. Proof of English proficiency
    4. A EUR 348 visa application fee
    5. Healthcare surcharge deposit

    The following steps must be followed in order to obtain a General student visa (tier 4)

    1. The online application for Tier 4 visa must be filled and submitted;
    2. Upon approval, the candidate will be called to the nearest visa application center for collection of biometrics and photographs as proof of residence permit;
    3. The applicant must collect the same biometric residence permit within 10 days of arriving at the UK;
    4. The visa takes approximately three weeks to reach the applicant, if all criteria has been appropriately fulfilled.

    Ans. Yes. The University has been open since the start of this academic year to enable us to deliver some small group teaching and so our students can access our facilities including the library, PC Labs and study spaces.

    Ans. All Student Services are available remotely, offering students comprehensive support. The team is currently providing support through video (Microsoft Teams or Zoom), phone and email between 9am and 5pm Monday – Friday. This includes Student Welfare Advice and Guidance; Counselling Service; International Student Advice; Accommodation; Disability Advice and Guidance; Money Advice and Guidance. We plan to increase the student support services available on campus as soon as Government guidance allows.

    Ans. We appreciate the pandemic has had a significant impact on many people, including those intending to apply to University. We will continue to look to reduce the barriers our applicants face, so we are able to offer an admissions service that is helpful, consistent and fair. There is still a level of uncertainty around examinations and assessments which are due to take place in 2021. We will ensure that we provide the information, advice and guidance that our applicants need to understand the impact that any change to their assessments will have on applying to university. We will continue to show an appropriate level of flexibility when we receive results from applicants and we welcome further correspondence from applicants who wish to provide more information about their own circumstances.
