Because it was highly recommended. A well-known organisation and I could complete the course whilst working via distance learning. I had heard that they had a good support process and that the financial support was really helpful.
It was a trial course and had some issues but was really useful I would recommend it to other students the team are supportive and there is a lot of student programs to help struggling students with finances etc.
I left my previous college due to mental health issues and poor support from the college. Because of said health issues, I wanted to remain close to family and friends and stay in a familiar environment rather than move across the country. The Open University allowed me to study from a distance, the comfort of my own home, and freed up enough time to pursue treatment and also other interests.
An interesting curriculum that covers quite a variety of subjects. My first year involved a broad overview of the arts, my second year specifying more so on literature and creative writing, and then in my final year, I will move onto specialist topics of my choosing. It's very interesting to develop and hone my skills as a student of the arts.
