Northumbria University is a public university whose history dates back to the year 1894. The main campus of the university is located in Newcastle, United Kingdom. The two other campuses of the university are located in London and Amsterdam.

Applications for the undergraduate courses are accepted mostly via UCAS portal. The deadlines for UCAS applications are fixed. Any application submitted after the deadlines will only get reviewed in case of vacancies.

One of the critical admission requirements for international applicants is to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. While students from English speaking countries are exempted from providing such proof, students hailing from non-native English speaking countries have to furnish one document supporting their English language efficiency.

At the UG level, the university offers three types of degrees: BA(Hons), BSc (Hons), and BEng(Hons). Prospective applicants can choose from over 100 UG degree programs. The admission process and requirements for all the degree programs are similar.

Applicants will receive a CAS or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies after getting accepted at the Northumbria University. They can then proceed to acquire a Tier 4 General Visa.
All courses of Northumbria University with a minimum of 6 months of study duration require a Tier 4 visa. The earliest date to apply for a study visa is 3 months before the date of the commencement of the course.
