It started by going on an open day while I was at sixth form and I was really drawn to the student life and the fact that it is a campus university. I applied to 4 university's and I applied to York for 2 different programs (psychology was my first choice). Going on open days made the admission process (which is completed through UCAS as I am in the UK) much easier as I was able to talk to multiple members of staff and be sure I was including the right information.
I love the course curriculum for being so varied. There are 5 different modules in year 1 and year 2 which is narrowed down to 4 in year 3 (which are chosen) Having compulsory modules in the first 2 years helps as you know you have made the right choices when it comes to 3rd year and you can still keep your options varied so the course remains thoroughly interesting.
I loved the atmosphere and general buzz of the uni, as well as it having a huge investment in the chemistry department with state of the art equipment and excellence for teaching and student support. The university as a whole has a great reputation for being a place that provides academically stimulating courses and tutoring that is internationally recognised as well as being an environment that is fun and that allows you to build yourself as a person through societies and sport as well as expanding your academic knowledge.
It's very interesting and thorough and covers all the important basics in a lot of depth as well as delving into other areas of more specialised interest. It's an academically stimulating and challenging course, but it?s well supported through workshops and tutorials and is a very rewarding course to be taking.
