Ans. MAIT and NSUT are two of the top private engineering colleges in India. MAIT is ranked 41st by India Today, and NSUT is ranked 76th in India by the NIRF in 2020. Both MAIT and NSUT offer BTech programs for IT. The total seats in the IT branch at MAIT are 180 with a total tuition fee of Rs 4.69 lakhs. The total seats in the ECE branch at NSUT are 180, with a total tuition fee of Rs 7.81 lakhs. Admission: Admission in both the colleges is based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main examination, with 55% and 60% in the 10+2 examination for MAIT and NSUT, respectively. Candidates need to go through the GGSIPU counseling for securing a seat in MAIT, and JAC Delhi counseling for NSUT. The cut-off ranks for the colleges are given below. MAIT General- 42615(Delhi), 27611(Outside Delhi) NSUT General- 8317 Placements: MAIT- At MAIT, the IT branch has one of the highest placement records. The highest salary package offered is around 28 LPA, and the lowest is around 3.3 LPA, and the average is around 5 LPA. More than 40 companies come for placements in the IT branch. Some of the companies that come for recruitment are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Nagar, Accenture, and IBM. NSUT- It has some of the top companies in India visiting for placements, including international companies. The placement record of the ECE branch is pretty decent, around 90%. The maximum package offered is 22 LPA; the minimum package offered is 3 LPA. Companies like D. E Shaw, Amazon, Microsoft, and Sprinklr come to the campus for recruitment. Infrastructure: MAIT- The campus of MAIT is relatively small but has all the necessary facilities required by students. Facilities include Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, libraries, and sports facilities. NSUT- It has a massive air-conditioned library of three floors containing books written by national and international authors. Classrooms are spacious, and the entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. NSUT also has excellent sports facilities with badminton, basketball, and tennis courts, and also grounds for football, cricket, and running tracks. In terms of academics, both the colleges have a dedicated group of faculties who support and guide their students. The student to faculty ratio at MAIT is around 70:1, and at NSUT it is almost the same. The faculties at NSUT are highly qualified but extremely strict, and the course curriculum is updated. As for which institute will be better for you, you should be the one to decide that.Read more

Ans. Admission applications to NSIT/DTU are submitted by the students under the Joint Admission Counselling process. This procedure is conducted by IIIT Delhi, IGDTUW, NSIT (now NSUT), and DTU for admission to these prestigious tier-1 colleges. The examination that is conducted for considering admission applications is the Joint Entrance Examination (Main). More than 12 lakh students register for this examination. And the eligibility criteria of this exam deny any kind of limitation on the age of the candidate. So, a two year age lag is certainly not a limitation on any candidate’s eligibility. There are almost two thousand students studying in one batch at these colleges and almost all kinds of students take admission. So, adjusting in the college environment will not be a difficulty for any 2-year dropper. Read more

Ans. In terms of placements DTU, BITS, NSIT are ahead of IIIT Delhi, however, the research opportunities are more at IIIT Delhi than the other institutes.  According to the placement statistics of Delhi Technological University (DTU), B.Tech students received a total of 1195 placement offers from 323 recruiting companies for the academic year 2019. The average package was 11.7 LPA and the highest package was around 1.02 Crore per annum. CSE and IT were the departments with the highest placement rate.  In 2019, 142 students out of 173 students who registered for the placement drive got placement offers at BITS. The total placement rate was 82.08%. The average package offered was around 14.86 LPA and the highest package was 44 LPA. Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) successfully placed 640 students in 172 organizations in the academic year 2019. The average CTC was 7 LPA and the highest CTC was 1.25 Crore per annum. The recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, TCS, etc. IIIT Delhi is comparatively a new institute (established in 2008). Top recruiters at the institute are Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Snapdeal, etc. In 2019 placements the average salary offered was 16.06 LPA. The highest package for domestic and international job offers was INR 39 LPA and INR 40.72 LPA, respectively.CSE department got the most placements.    IIIT Delhi is a research-driven institute and the faculties of the institute have their PhDs from premier institutes like UCLA, IITs, IISc, etc. Many undergraduates of the institute had their research papers published at international conferences. Thus DTU, NSIT, has excellent placement, especially for the CSE department. BITS has an average and decent placement record. IIIT Delhi is best for research opportunities among all the institutes mentioned above.  Read more

Ans. NSIT is a reputed private institute in Delhi. The institute takes admission for B.Tech IT through JAC (Joint Admission Council). In 2019 the JEE closing cutoff for IT at the institute was 8317. The course fee is INR 6.7 lakhs (1st-year fee). B. Tech graduates at the institute receive salary packages ranging between 4 LPA to 27 LPA each year.  DTU is ranked 34th among the best technical universities in India by NIRF 2019. DTU also intakes students into B.Tech IT through JAC and the closing cutoff for IT in 2019 was 13679. The course fee is 1.66 lakh (1st-year course fee). The placement statistics of 2019 for the institute reveals a total of 107 placement offers were received by the students of IT and 86 students got placed from the department. The highest CTC received the students of IT was around 40.63 LPA.  IIIT Delhi is a state university primarily focused on computer science and allied areas. It is ranked among 55th among the engineering colleges of India by NIRF 2019. The admission to B.Tech CSE is made through JAC based on the performance of the students in the JEE Mains. The closing cutoff for CSE in 2019 was 16693.  The course fee is 3.6 lakhs for the first year.  All three colleges have their own advantages. The course curriculum of CSE at IIIT D is better than that of NSIT and DTU. In IIIT-D the first two years of the CSE course curriculum involve core fundamentals of computer science also the research culture is batter at this institute compared to NSIT and DTU. However, NSIT and DTU have batter peer groups. So, choose according to your convenience.  Read more

I choose this college over any other colleges because of the following reasons: 1. First of all, the placement is very good. 2. Faculties is good for the particular subject. 3. Number of students is less as compared to other premier college. 4. Nearer to my home. Bad aspects of college: 1. Fees is very High. 2. Lab facilities is not as good . 3. Core branches are not given preference during placement session. Admission process: Admission process is quite simple , student has to get a good rank in JEE mains and after a good rank,he/she needs to apply for counselling process at jac.com .

The university is closer to my home and is a state university so i had some reservation because of being from Delhi region. The campus was good I also had an option of going to DTU but I chose NSUT because it was more programming oriented and had lesser competition. I opted for mechanical because it was my only choice.

I heard that the electrical branch is the best branch in college. The best things are that teachers in this branch are very supportive. Labs will be improved, and the classes are also improved. The course material should be of advanced level. Two fests are conducted in a year, one in December, i.e, Encarta presented By CS Department, and other in March, i.e, Innovarious.

Honestly I never knew about this university, but through JAC Delhi i got a better branch in NSUT than I was getting in DTU so i had to take it. I am studying in Mechanical Engineering so it's not very bad. I researched a little bit and came to know that it was closer to home than DTU, plus i had a chance to get a room in hostels. College is in walking distance from metro and the locality i.e. Dwarka is very good. Lots of malls and restaurants plus metro so you can go anywhere anytime. That's what made my decision final.
